Onderwerp: Re: Single game round robin selected games
Luke Skywalker: I am not sure as I do not know what it is that you are calling spam. The page I see the list of tournaments on just lists tournaments with a find filter at the top of the page . I haven't created a tournament in over fifteen years. It caught me surprised when it started and added 23 games to my list of games. I am glad you found it before it started. I will try to get a few more running in the near future. This one seems to be going well. Have good games.
And I think it’s necessary to choose easy games, so as not to think too much and lose very little time in each move. It reminds me the Blitz in chess. I'm very bad at speed games.
cd power: how do yu do over a hundred moves a day when you only have 28 current games???...i wish i could get my people I play with to move that fast hahahahaha....not really
Mélusine: It's a little crazy when you think about it... this May 15th will be my 17th anniversary on Brainking, so 977,533 moves divided by 17 years divided by 365 days = 158 moves per day. At this rate, I will hit 1 million moves by the end of September this year.
Aganju: There’s another one I prefer to play team tournaments than single player tournaments. But I’ve sometimes difficulties to join a team tournament. Either I can't find a team, or sometimes the team doesn't sign up for the tournament, or players leave the team and it’s no longer possible to join the tournament. Sometimes it seems to me very complicate to play in a team tournament.
Please have a look in any Fellowships you are in & see if you can help out a FIVE IN LINE team
Only 4 teams in the May 2022 - Dark Battleboats 2 so far, which is odd is as 2 of the teams are different from the last Dark Boat tourney that had 4 teams lol
I will sort some new tourneys out for tomorrow, any requests let me know
Yes, that section has been a mess for years. I guess there needs to be something added / amended in the filter section, so at least you can look for what you are after
Sadly, I think Fencer will only sort issues out that are 'Quick fixes', and don't mean any new coding, so we have a problem we can not fix
All I can do myself is maybe utilize the top of this board, if yourself, or anyone sends me a tournament I can start posting a select few up top of here BUT it will be a case that it is just ONE link to each tournament, and I will also limit it to the next 10 coming up...... It will need keeping an eye on & as tournaments start, get removed and new ones added if they are available..... I think I would need at least one more Moderator as well, as I am not here all the time like I used to be
Let me know if you like the idea and if it would help
beach: it *is* a single tournament with all game types. that's exactly my point; the list breaks it automatically out into separate lines. But yes, overall there are too many in parallel open.
And not everybody cheats for his brains. I find it interesting to play for them, and worked hard to get to where I am.
MadMonkey:no I did not mean the discussion board I meant the list of tournaments
Why anyone would make a single brain tournemtn for each game instead of making 1 tournament with all games. Now no one even bothers to make tournaments or go there because the tournament section has become a mess.
I spoke with Fencer a month ago about it, and he said the brains were useless so why must be have 400 brain tournaments when it could be just one tournament with all games. I am not complaining about any one person, I just wish they would stop the endless mess that has become the tournament list. Ths site is dying a slow death, no one wants to even look at the board anymore, if I create a tournament no one can even find it with the mess in the tournament section
MadMonkey: maybe I misunderstand. I was talking about the 'Tournaments' main link, not the discussion board here. When you click https://brainking.com/en/Tournaments, you get a two-mile-long list of tournaments with prices, which I am interested in, but not for two miles. As I mentioned, the issue is that they are 'unrolled', so if someone sets up a tournament for all game types, there will be 128 lines showing for it - which makes for a *long* list. Right now there are 379 entries you have to scroll by until you get to the other tournaments.
To be clear, there is nothing wrong (in my eyes) with the Tournament Discussion Board.
beach: Please let me know what is wrong with the Tournament Board ... Apart from Tournaments being advertised, and winners, and people being congratulated, i haven't seen anything out of order here....
If people just want Tournaments posted here it would end up being just like the Tournaments section and be a million times worse, and be pointless having it...
beach: I think it's unfortunate; all tournaments with brains are 'unrolled', which means each game type is listed separately. That makes it a very long list currently, which, yes, is a bit annoying. When this was developed, tournaments with brains to win were probably much rarer; I remember eagerly checking when new ones appeared. Would be cool if only the first 10 are a shown, maybe with setting 'show all'/'show only 10'.
But in the overall view on life, I think I can take scrolling down ever so often. There are worse things on the site that I'd see as more important to be fixed.
