grenv: But we were talking mainly about go, You did not mentioned Backgammon case before... Also, if someone is new to the game he will like to play it until end to learn more/understand whats happening. In the meantime You will sit next to Your comp and yell 'why he does not resign', yes?
And about gomoku, yes thats true, this is probably reason why players play even when opponen thinks that he won.

grenv: and if the opponent rejects the 'claim win' (and subsequently loses), then he loses twice as much rating as he would have done!! How about that? Quite like doubling up at Backgammon!
tonyh: I don't think you can claim a game. If you are playing a game of Backgammon on a real board against a real opponent, would you go away with the words: I would win? That's nonsense!
Oh, and by the way, a game of Maharadjah Chess or Horde Chess with that 'claim victory button' would be very quickly then.
But there is a difference; there are Go-players who (when the board is full and doing a move would be useless) play stones in their own areas just for the AP's. I have also a game running where my opponent would lose but he just won't give up for his AP's (I think).
Back to my opinion: Just when you would win, give a 'good game' phrase that you would win, and don't claim anything cause that would reduce the friendly 'atmosphere' here at BK.
PS: I always resign a very lost game of Gammon, Go or anything else because I hate to play further in those (already lost) games.
PS 2: I've also a Go game running where my opponent still rejects my ''dead stone offer'' cause he would lose then. But I am really right. What can I do? (Maybe this is for the Go Board instead)
joshi tm: My experience in playing for real is that we rarely continue to play when the outcome is decided. The few times we continue to play is usually when it's faster to just make another roll or two than to check if the outcome actually is decided.
joshi tm: This 'friendly' atmosphere? How is this enhanced by players who play on and on (and often slowly)? As whopper writes, it never happens in real life! And to give APs to players who just go on and on; crazy rewards!
tonyh: Agreed, you never play on in real life, even though it would take only a minute. Here it can waste weeks when slow players make it even slower by continuing to roll meaningless dice.
The argument "I clicked too quickly" doesn't hold either because you can resign after rolling dice (and I often do - if I needed a double and didn't get it for instance).

grenv, tonyh: But who decides a game would be called as 'very lost'? A very lost backgammon game could be a less lost game when you manage to hop out of the opponent's home area or hop a stone out. This can save points in a Cubed match.
And alas, in real life you play never on, but it will be the loser who resigns the game and it won't be the victor who wants to claim victory.
By the way, what does it matter for you that someone wastes weeks to make their 'meaningless' moves? You have UNLIMITED games to play, enjoy a Brain Rook Membership :). Ok, a pawn will not enjoy those players, but those Gammon games will end, happily ever after.
tonyh: I don't think the claim victory is a good idea (or at least losing double rating points.) This would work in totally lost endgames, but what if it was a position where a player was losing but barely behind. Then this option of losing double rating points simply would not work.
El Cid: The doubling the points lost is stuped the purpose of the points is to show if they can play not if they are good at realising when they are beet. As for a claim victory option in games like Spider Line 4 I always say good game to my oponent when I have them so they can't possibly win. If it is someone I play a lot of games I will then give them a list of every posible move I and they can make showing they have losts but I do that for those I am trying to teach only.
Fencer, could we have another option in our Move and goto drop list. Move and goto next game in TEAM Tournament. Oh, and while you are there may has well have..... Move and goto next GAME in Fellowship challenge match.
mctrivia: You have given me the answer!! Let the 'doubling' affect just the Action Points. If the player refuses the double, then the winner just collects 5 points. If the player accepts the double and then loses, 10 points is DEDUCTED from his Action Points. If the doubler loses, then 10 points is deducted from his Action Points total. Perfect (the points may/will be different for pawns but the principle is the same). Of course, some players may reckon that they will get more move points by playing on than refusing the double; perhaps the rules could NOT count any moves after a double.
Vikings: In games, you can also choose which pond you want. And the reason why I made that request is that I didn't remember anything like that, but it looks like it has been done
Hello: This is for the players when they have to place their boats. Would it be possible to have a place to click on that lets us remove the boats and place them again? Thank you.
Amandakmg365: I don't understand the question either then.
If you are just looking to remove 1 piece that you don't like the placement of, then just click on that 1 piece.
If you don't like ANY of the layout of ALL of the pices, then like Mr. Shumway said - choose the "clear this position" option below the board to clear the board where you can then start over.
Amandakmg365: Do you mean the following: if you just placed the boats randomly by choosing the "random placement of remaining pieces" option and don't like the setup, that you can generate another random position with one (new) button instead of clearing the board and randomizing it afterwards.
Marfitalu:In other words, he means that there will be a button on every user's profile by pressing which people can ask him/her to be interviewed. And, I have access to a chart sort of thing which says how many players, and how many times each, hav ebeen asked to be interviewed. Each month, I'll choose the most wanted person. I think it's a nice feature, but I'm not sure if it's easy to make.

MadMonkey: Just replying to myself. I requested a 'Move and goto next TEAM Tournament' option in the Drop list (dont shout i know its a good idea). I was just wondering why the 'Move and goto next game of this Tournament' do what it says it should do?? It seems it does not count Team Tourny's as actual Tournaments, most odd...
On the main Profile page, users can write a text about themselves. Some users have a very looong text in there, and you have to scroll all the way down the page to find the Friends/Enemies links and the invite to a game option. Why not push these actions to the top of that text, so that all the options are easilly accessible?
El Cid: I don't know if this is what was meant, but a cool feature would be to be able to "drag and drop" the boats onto the board! That would really help out big time! :)
joshi tm:Well, actually I think these options are getting inconvinient all of them being there at the same time. If I want to choose one, I have to look through a long list and find it. That's while many of those options are not used by me. There are only a few that I use. So I think it'd be nice if we could choose which ones to appear on our list. Then Fencer could add as many as he wanted, an dwe could choose those we need.
