MadMonkey: yah i asked for this a while back also. The feature is not the easiest to find. Maybe fencer could make it a little easier to find say have it always visible with the note box and also have it in the settings page.
I suggest that inactive accounts be deleted after, say, a year of not being used. I understand if this is impossible for certain reasons though. I'm suggesting this because some people may want a username that exists on an inactive account, for example I'd like to change my username to MTC to be consistant with the username I have on most other websites, but that name is attached to this user, who has been inactive since 2003.
In the old days the white used to start in every game. Then, to make things right, the rules were adjusted to some of the games, and black or red or whatever starts some of the games now. When you start a new game, on the New Game page and you choose the color, it clearly states which color goes first, so you can choose. But on the Waiting Games list, no such info is present. So instead of you'll play as black / white, can there be an aditional signal that shows if I'll start the game or not? It's hard to remember the settings in 90+ games.
How about option of selecting favourite games or known invitations... I would like to have # of invitations and #of invitations in games that interests me
Onderwerp: arrangement of not-my-turn games on Main Page
Aangepast door Lawless (5. oktober 2006, 13:02:27)
Currently, the list of games where it's not my turn, indicates how much time the opponent has to make his move. I would, however, prefer if it indicated how much time I would have if the opponent would make his move now.
The reason behind my proposal is that when I log out, I would like to know when do I have to log in again in order not to timeout. In games where it's my turn, it's easy to see the minimal time left. However in games where it's the opponent's turn, there is not much use in knowing that the opponent has 10 days left if I have only 10 hours left and the opponent might make his move the moment after I have logged out. The only way to be on the safe side is by clicking through all the games where it's not my turn and that is unreasonably inconvenient.
Onderwerp: Re: arrangement of not-my-turn games on Main Page
Lawless: Sounds like another column that shows 'Game Time per move' would be in order to me, then you could sort by that as well. Not a bad idea at all.
Onderwerp: Re: arrangement of not-my-turn games on Main Page
MadMonkey: Two columns. One with opponent's time left and the other with your time left when opponent moves. This would be very handy for Fischer clock timed games.
grenv: Everything looks the same for me for the fonts. If it is smaller or larger, try either holding down CTRL key on keyboard while you move your mouse wheel - or go to VIEW in the browser, and change the text/font size.
I would like a number to show up(in a different color then red) beside the names of my fellowship to tell me if some one wrote a message in one of the other boards. I know I can add the boards to my favorite list but this doesn't work if I don't notice a new board was created.
mctrivia: Maybe when 'another' board is added to a Fellowship, it should automatically create a link on the Fellowship main DB, maybe at the top just under the Fellowship name. Then a red number could show up if a message was added to the main board or one of the linked boards.
any thing anyone feels like sharing as players have friends here and look to them for a speak back, not OFF TOPIC some as they have friends here and may not know what board to exackly put what where, can say what's needed without being directed to 3 sometimes 4 boards to reach the one's they play with to say there say.
Hello: Fencer. Could you please try to add a smiley that is throwing a pie? OH and another player asked me to ask if you could add a monkey smiley? Thank you.

Mr. Shumway: I already asked Fencer for a Monkey one, he told me to find one, so i found lots LOL, i dont know what they have to be like so they can work on brainking though.
When I look at the profile for a player, and check tournaments won, I get a list of all the tournament that person won. However, if I want to see what games, I have to choose "Show chess" or similar. Is there any way to get a summary like 5 chess tournaments won, 2 Backgammon, 3 Battleboat etc?!
I'd like to see the number of a person's started games on their profile so that I won't have to wait for a long long long list to load so that I can see the totall number, in case the person is running more than 2,000 games.
Why, players can rach a frightingly BKR of approximate 2800 at the game of MiniShogi and the first BKR's at the games of Ataxx and Assimilation weren't that high?
Would it be possible to have access to the Context menu items through a drop menu like the games in the top left corner, so we could access it from any page ?
This way we could still have cut/paste enabled on our mouse.
Would it be possible to extend the "Block users" feature to the discussion boards? I was a victim of "flaming" by means of a person intentionally taking a post of mine out of context and deforming it's real intent. I felt as if I was treated with a great amount of disrespect by this person which I don't want to have to experience in the future if I was to discuss on YOUR boards. This IS a possible thing to achieve as it was done on another game site with "discussion boards". Thanks for your consideration on this issue. because as was stated on the other site "there are all kinds of weirdos on the net....some of whom will join these sites with ulterior motives!"
Gentlegiant101: Paying members have the hability to Hide users from Discussion Boards (if A hides B, A will no longer see any message posted by B on that board). I don't think any such facility is available to pawns, though.

Gentlegiant101: If it is a legitimate reason, a Moderator can block anyone from posting to a board. I would not imagine this was a public board was it ?
MadMonkey: pawns that are in fellowships was once a paying member , its upto the big boss if they remain in the fellowship after they become a pawn (the pawn cannot see anything unless they pay for membership again)
As for Gentlegiant101 he was moderated thats what he is complaining about ;)
Jason: The way Gentlegiant101 message reads is that he would like users blocked on a board, after he got flaming aimed at him. Nothing about his posts being moderated.....maybe i am reading it wrong, but thats what it says.
I'll have to agree, this is the wrong place to be discussing flaming, baiting and or moderating issues. I'm not sure if a pawn can hide another user on a public board ( I was only a pawn for the first day i was on bk)
I would like to see a column on the main page for how much time I have left while it is my opponent's turn. This would be really helpful in a game timed with a Fischer clock or a game without vacations allowed.
I think just to the right of the "Time Left" column would be a good place for it. It could be headed with "Your Time Left" or something similar. For the standard move time limit, the column would just have the time per move in it. The colored dots would would still be there to help you know what's going on without having to visit each game to check. This would be really helpful for planning on leaving for the weekend or a business trip.
It would be useful to be able to save your favorite settings for game invitations. For example, I usually invite people to play backgammon matches with the doubling cube, and a time limit of 3 days with standard vacations. It would be nice to be able to make a string of invitations without having to change those settings. Alternatively, the system could save the last settings used.
