Do you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here? Post your request into this board! If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board.

Andersp, thats because Fencer has 'customer service' people to answer for him. Thats what we do, answer the questions that get asked over and over again. Autopass is one such question :o)
How about a message a week or so before ratings are about to be hidden to warn the player? I play all game types, and wouldn't be able to keep up with my ratings. Or, on the profile, some time keeper saying "you have X amount of time to complete a game before your rating becomed hidden"
BBW's suggestion of 'show all' could be available only for paying members, another incentive to buy membership.
I think banning people from a board for it can be quite sensible in some circumstances. For example, if someone suddenly starts posting bad language for no apparent reason, and they're normally very polite, I might hide their posts for a while assuming they had had a drink or two, or that they were mad about something. It would give them time to either calm down or sober up. It wouldn't be because I thought they deserved to be banned as a punishment. I would see it as more of a calming measure, and allow them to post again after a few hours.
BBW, I agree with number one, but the user agreement gives guidelines as to what moderators should do in case of an offense.
As for agreements between what is and isn't an offense, and how people 'run' the board they moderate, well even among other moderators that could be discussed until the cows come home with no satisfactory agreement at the end. As long as Fencer is happy with the way the board is moderated, its ok in my eyes. If he isn't, he'll change it. I don't always agree with everything he does, but I do respect that its his site, and he has the final say in every decision. Despite what people think, he makes his own mind up. His friends won't change that, and nor will any outcry from a group of people.
LongJohn, with all due respect, five people isn't unanimous. I haven't read the posts at the music board that have been moderated, but if they weren't about music, then its quite right they were deleted. Regardless of who the moderator is, its still a music board.
Fellowship teams, if you go to ANY fellowship, and look at their team, it will say "you cannot join this team because you a member of XXX team" - if it has a link to join the team, then you're not in that type of team in any fellowship!
You're not barred from posting, ughaibu (if you mean BK.com!) - I hid your posts from other users. Its not the same thing, if you were banned you wouldn't be able to post at all.
Its late here, so in the morning I'll remove offending posts and 'un-hide' your others.
Actually I think the point is more that this is a feature request board. Imagine if every request was followed by an acknowledgement from Fencer. We would log on to twice as many posts, most of them unnecessary - just to say 'ok I read that request'. He has said he reads EVERY request, are individual acknowledgements really necessary?
I think that he didn't ignore you, but that he noted the request. The same as he would have done if it had been made by myself or Bumble. In fact, I made a request myself further down the page that didn't receive a reply.
Fencer has stated many times that he reads and notes ALL requests. Imagine if he had to reply to every single one? And sometimes he can't say yes or no straight away because they need to be thought about, and considered how difficult it may or may not be to implement.
Rogue Lion, I believe when you place a game in the waiting room, its possible to leave a message on the game that people can read before accepting? You could add a note saying that you would prefer faster moving players.
Isn't this getting a little heated for a feature request?
The request was made, it has been discussed at length and Fencer will make the decision of whether to implement this feature or not.
LOL I like the idea of smilies to indicate what mood we're in! It might save us being snapped at by a person who isn't in a good mood!
****
Serious feature request...
On fellowship boards, on the news on the main page, I'd like to have the option for posts to remain there until I post new news, even if its a few months. As it is now there is a 14 day(?) maximum, and after that I have to re-post.
When your membership is up for renewal, you'll get a note saying "your membership is about to expire". So you needn't worry until then.
And, on BK2 the profiles will be easier to get into anyway, you won't have to wait as long.
I really don't remember, BBW, it was an awful long time ago. There were quite a few against it then though.. It could even have been on the backgammon board, or reversi maybe?
When this was first discussed, there were people wanting it both ways. Once Fencer said no auto pass, the ones who wanted this were happy and stopped posting. It was only those who disagreed that carried on. Thats why you rarely hear from people from do not want this feature, because as far as they are concerned, its decided, and not worth discussing.
Andersp how can you say Fencer doesn't care? Of course he does, but people are split as to which they'd prefer - so Fencer has gone with what HE prefers, which is no automatic moves. I think thats fair enough.
I haven't sent Kevin his questions yet! (Sorry Kev!) April ran away with me and I'm a bit late with it! So still time to send me your questions for him!
Or have a points match for the final round. First one to 3 (or 5) points is the winner. Play like that until there are just 2 players thrashing it out for the overall winners position.
LOL @ BBW! But actually, I'd like to see that! I recently found I was on 2 peoples enemies lists that I have never played a game with and as far as I know I've never spoken to them! (Not bad going!) But I did think then that it would be a nice idea if we knew whose enemies lists we were on!
Long John, people are split on this subject. Not EVERYBODY wants automatic moves. Fencer cannot please everyone, and his decision on this is not to have it. It makes some people happy, but not others. As I said, he can't please everyone. But thats his decision and there isn't much point in 'translating' (i.e twisting) his words to try to change his mind. I doubt that will work.
Ahh I see. But if you made the tournament within the fellowship, invitational only - you could change the name there. As long as all players were in both fellowships it would work.
MadMonkey, you already can. Go back to 'start/edit tournament' and you can alter the title. So instead of it saying "MadMonkeysMadhouse chess" you could change it to "Madhouse vs Sunshine" (for example)
Fencer, is there still that glitch that shows some people logging in as 'registering a new account'? Just wondering! LOL, I've seen a few people listed as doing that and wondered...!
ROFL cheeky mare!! hee hee!!!! I asked for that! Now shush, this isn't a feature request!! :oP (I have to think of something to stop you picking on me!!)
I have appalling ratings in some games, and I still continue to play them because I enjoy the game. But if I felt that my low rating was dragging down the whole of BrainKing I wouldn't enjoy play as much. And I'm sure the high rated players would feel quite frustrated at people like me holding down their favourite game rating!

You're quite right, Caissas. Paul is the owner of the yahoo group, and he's done a great job but there are still not as many pics there as we'd like. Hopefully it will build, theres new pics going there all the time, most are 'real' and a few are just for fun.
I agree it would be better to have pictures here on our profiles, but as an alternative the yahoo group is open for everyone.
