Because most of us have not a real board of all games at home it would be useful if we could have a “practice board” which can be used as a board to analyze the game and to play the moves forwards and backwards.
morphy4ever: A little bit strange to have problems with the site,if you have played only 10 chess- and 3 pentegames...
Anyhow it should be possible to have a member delete button without losing the played games for the other players.
For the case of the merging or reorganisation of the chess dbs I would suggest the following disposition:
1. standard chess
2. random chess (includes all random variants like chess960,corner,fortress)
3. other chessvariants with the 8x8 board
4. 10x8 chess (includes Janus,Gothic,perhaps Capabalnca randomchess)
I am not a friend of intermixtures of chessvariants.I think it is much better to let the variants as original as possible as a way to improve the game.Instead there could be added other interesting chessvariants.
Btw if I look at the tournementsite and in the "Waiting room" my impression is that the chessplayers become more and more a minority at BK.

BBW,I see here boardgames only until now. Games with the same startposition (except Screen Chess)and games, which have not to do with luck (except Backgammon). And that`s why the site mainly has the character of a boardgamesite and this is good so.
I don`t think that a too big differentiation with cardgames or games of hazard is good for the development of the site.I am ,it is a matter of common knowledge, for the " red line"...
Do you know "Skat"? It is an interesting German cardgame. The regular game is for three players, but there is also a two playersvariant called "officerskat".
No kidding,a boardgame site should have boardgames only. Otherwise it would change to a casino.
Ughaibu,I have understood this in this way that the hided rating would be reactivated if the player plays again.Redsales,I think too, that complete inactive accounts should be deleted after we say 6 or 12 months not online.
Because of the nonexisting correctness of the provisional ratings after only four played games I want suggest to show the provisional rating only when at least 10 games are played.
May be as a zip file if it is very big,or as standard file. One pgn-file can contain many games, for instance all games of one tournement.
But I think a pgn-file with we say 50 games should not be so very big.
It would be helpful to have a pgn-download of
- all games of one tournement together
- special games of one player together
- all games of a cathegory of games of a special period
Mely wrote to me today an interesting suggestion, which I want publish now (because of some language problems):
How,if we would add up our BKRs of all games to a cumulative number (named "Brainking"-number ).That means that the best general player is this person with the most points. The best player would be perhaps the "Brain King" :-).
In this way you can motivate the players to play every game as possible to have a BKR.My complete points for instance (Brainking-number) would be now ca 28.000 (the addition for all my BKRs).
Another suggestion could be to implement an "Brainking BKR" as average of all BKR`s,the player has.My "Brainking-BKR" as average of all my BKRs would be now 1866.
Comments?
I think better is if BK would hide the inactive players if they have not played a game since more than one year.We have discussed these themes a long time ago.
The prize tournements donated by members are one of the great features of BK.But we need rules for it. Okay,if the promised prize will not handed over, you can say it is a matter of the donor.
But the donor uses the Bk server for his promises, that`s why it is a matter also of BK!
I suggest the following: If a prize tournement is offered by the tournement creator,he has to give the prize within 10 days to Fencer, otherwise the tournement will be deleted as not seriously. With this measure can be ensured that the winner gets indeed the promised prize,if the tournement is finished perhaps 6 or 12 months later.
But this is not the sense of a vacation day! The sense of a vacation day is if you are completely! not at the server for one or more days!
If you have no time to play you have two good possibilities:
you can play fewer games or games with more time per day.
But to use vacation days and even so to play again (without running time) is abuse!
Some time before we have discussed that people sometimes are playing their games although they have vacation days. Now I have seen this issue at another chessserver.
If a player wants to make a move during his vacation days a message appears:
"You are in vacation at the moment, and if you make a move the vacation is finished automatically".
But if the vacation days are finished the time runs again for all the games of the player.
So it could be prevented, that people take their vacation days only to extend the time for some of their games.
The idea to play "livegames" with we say 60 minutes for the whole game, would be a good supplement to our turnbased-games here.
One possibility to play live on the internet (without a server) could be a small freeware from Germany called MAX (Misc./download).Until yet you can play with MAX live chess, janus, checkers, reversi,go and the author wants to add other games.
Are there planned by Fencer other possibilities to play live here in Bk?
5 minutes...Backhoff,can you imagine that the top correspondence chess players analyze their games in nearly equal positions 2-4 days, sometimes a whole week or more, again and again the same position to find the best move, although they have a computer?
Against these people you will have no chance, also if you play with 5 engines.
But sure,at least a bit.And I have the opinion, that I play better only a few - 15-25 - games and try to play these games as good as I can.But if I have opponents with many games -we say more than 100 - they are mostly weaker players. In chess you cannot play so many games on a good level,if you want analyze correctly.Unless you are playing in a full time job :).
Hey to all,the vacation feature is a good feature of course and should not be removed. But a bad feature is the fact, that they can use vacations days for single games and in the other games they continue to play at the same time! And then the vacation days are nothing else than an additional respite for those who have running too many (mostly hundreds) of games. This also completely unsportsmanlike!
But @all, that`s why you can have longer time limits with we say 5 days. And you can change your vacation status at once or within the next day if the situation is changing? But vacationdays should be vacations for you completely and for all games also, not only for some of them.It should not be a possibility to extend your time in some special games. And it is abuse for me if a player sets a vacation day if he only needs more time in a single game.
In the past I have seen sometimes that some of my opponents have announced their vacations, even so they have continued to play some of their games. So they have used their vacations to extend their time limits in some of their games.
I think, during the vacations the players should not be able to play their games! Either they have vacations or not!
In our fellowship " The chessclub" we try to organize a team competition against another team of a chessserver/group.
How if we had additional "Brainking teams" for each game to play external competitions?
These teams could represent Brainking worldwide.Perhaps you can mark automatically the best ten rated players of each game (only rooks and knights) as "Brainking team"!
At the moment we are making our moves with three steps 1. field 1 - 2.field2 - and - 3.move.
Perhaps it is possible (in Brainking 2.0) to move only -more comfortable- in two steps ?
Either 1.field 1, field 2 - 2.move or 1.field 1 - 2.field 2 = move ?
I have tried it, yes and it works okay,if you only are observing two or three games.
But if more it will be confusing.
At the moment I bookmark these games with the Internetexplorer in a special folder. It`s better because I can name the links.
It can be,that you have some games of your partner or your opponent, which you want to observe constantly.
At the moment you first have to search these games. You have to click on the player`s profile, then on the tournement and then on the the special game, which you want to observe.
If you have a watchlist, you can put this (these) observed game(s)in the list und can see the games at once if you open the list.(Wow,complicated to declare for me:))
In the tournements sometimes all games are ready except one or two less important games.Perhaps it would makes sense, that the tournement creator can start the next round if we have the winners of each group? Otherwise there is a long time until the next round begins and the most players perhaps have forgotten this tournement.:)
