WELL SAID....I've always been open-minded about music, I think you're right, it's a lack of exposure and a laziness, or more an ignorance of how or where to research for new stuff..thanks for untrapping the firebugs : )
to bwildman- thanks for the trouble you went to check this out for us all.......
to SF...I'm still listening to Joy Division!!! AWESOME....How did I NOT know about this band????
Any other links you want to post, please feel free : ) if you had to pick one CD for a first for me, which would it be??? I'm leaning towards Unknown Pleasures
so I guess that kinda answers the question regarding the COMPLETE posting of lyrics.I see no problem whatsoever in the way we are doing it now.
besides...I was asked to post any reply,if recieved.

If they are your lyrics, yes. If the lyrics belong to someone else, then, generally, no. The right to distribute copies of a work vest with the owner of rights in the work - it is an exclusive right granted under the law. Posting the lyrics on a website without permission would generally be an infringement, unless it falls under the concept of Fair Use ( see: http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html).

What an album Rose, I know what you mean. I never heard that but there may be truth in it as lindsay was sooooo good and Stevie really didn't put any passion into it.
I'm surprised Stevie was even playing with them. I heard there was still alot of tension with her and Lindsay.
Gotta admit I still get goose bumps when I hear songs from the Rumors album! Mmemoriesssssssss
At the end of last year I went to see Fleetwood Mac and Lindsay Buckingham was sensational, I must admit Stevie Nicks didn't look like she wanted to be there. What a group though.
there's probably alot more open minds here than you think : ) and I should have known better than to think there was someone you hadn't heard of !
lol about Paul...he was probably freaking cause it was like playing with a young George again and if he has a jealous lear it's cause he's not anymore...I'll definatley have to see it : )
and cheers to Cole on the CSNY link a page or two back....I enjoyed that : )
LOL!! I thought the same thing about Paul's little uke trip, but it was his tribute to a great man that was a brother to him in his own way, so you can't fault him for that, and he's Paul, and there's only one of him..have to admit I love him too......and couldn't have said better "Thank God for Clapton" under any circumstances : ) I wanted the DVD, but got the CD..so I've only seen pics of Dhani, I'm just going to have to go get it and Brainwashed too...would love to hear JD...you can pm or post it, others might be interested too...am listening now to one that I bet you haven't heard of...Captain Beyond...ya know that name?
I remember cheap trick "I Want YOU to Want ME" and their name is self-explanatory.IMHO..SF-No, I have not heard of Joy Division or George's "Brainwashed" but I will find it now .....I was given a CD on my birthday called Concert for George..in which his friends and family performed his songs as a tribute to him....it's an awesome CD
I think Lennon and Harrison stuck to there beliefs, while McCarnty and Starr went commercial...but Lennon had an oriental trump card...while Harrison....just played good music. All had exceptional talent.
George Harrison was my favorite...he was the guitar genius of the band and one of my favorite songwriters...but got put on the back burner living beneath the shadow of McCartney & Lennon...IMO one of the most underrated musicians of all time!!!!!!!
I agree, alot of their later songs did have quite a bit of depth...but it's the older ones that I listen to now the most...and that's what I always thought was part of their charm....in a world that's pretty complex, they were 4 boys, laughing, and playing and having a good time, singing about love and peace and happy things...problems? ...who cares, la di dah...it's hard to listen to them and stay in a bad mood : )
