It isn't clear to mean what active means. Does it mean you should have finished a game in the past 6/1 month(s)? One will be that your rook membership will start right away, then when that is over, you can have your additional 4 months of Knight.
But if you talk to him, he may go ahead and "covert" your 4 months of knight membership for 2 extra months of rook membership.
