bumble to red dragon: You won't have any problem unless some idiot mentions auto-pass.

Does someone want to ask for an auto-resign-feature? >;-> 'd be very useful for already hopelessly lost but not yet finished games. ;-)

I did not YET point at anybody when I said that I just hope that new members
may ask for that normal feature without having to fear harrassment
- and four fingers point back at bumble actually for the loose comment ... ~*~

I think youll find this should be classed as top overall players list.

I request the removal of the "delete game" facility. I cant understand what on Earth it's for apart from to increase the scope for annoying behaviour. There are even games in which a player can have a lost position after their first move yet they can delete on the second. If a player doesn't want to play what are they accepting games for? The delete games facility encourages irresponsibility, it's meaningless nonsense.

MidnightMcMedic
Maybe its in case you ended up with two games of the same type with one person. ie. I send you and invite and you send me an invite and we both accept.

30. august 2004, 16:15:58
ughaibu
If we're on such good terms what's wrong with playing two at once?

Emne: Re:
Two cirumstances come to mind where the delete is valuable. If someone picks up your game from the waiting games list and this person is a ringer or a creep you might want to delete out. Also if someone joins a tournament that you are in at the last minute and you are thrown into a game with him sometimes it is better to delete out than have to deal with some potty mouth.

I was thinking the delete option was not on Tournament games.

You might be right. Now that I think of it my friend had to resign to get out.

MidnightMcMedic
How about an auto-pass on the delete game? *runs for cover*

30. august 2004, 16:26:06
ughaibu
Emne: Purple
In such a case the player putting up the game would be doing the deleting, it still sounds irresponsible to me but preferable to the case of a player accepting games from the waiting games page and then deleting them. If your point is a valid one the use of "delete" could be confined to the game's proposer and denied to it's acceptor.

In the case you gave one game could be agreed drawn.

30. august 2004, 16:30:50
MidnightMcMedic
True ug, but some people wont accept a draw because it does affect the BKR.

I almost never get games by going on the waiting list. Most everybody is cool and innocent but the small number of programmers out there use the waiting games as a feeding pond. Those are the only games they can get anymore.

Not a delete, but a resign is surely on. ASt least, it is in chess!
But what I want, and am happy to pay IF it ever was, is a doubling cybe. Without that I am not paying for this website, after all, it is in nearly every other website that plays backgammon.

30. august 2004, 17:43:53

You can have doubling cube when we get auto pass on reversi, not fair one without the other, considering other sites have them

Emne: A less controversial request (if such a beast roams the woods).
When submiting a move and going to the message box can we be directly sent to the most recent message please? We probably chose to go there to delete a result notification and in any case it doesn't increase the number of clicks.

Emne: Re: A less controversial request (if such a beast roams the woods).
There is a number of unread messages displayed next to "Message Box" text. If you click on the number (not the text) it will take you to the most recent message.

30. august 2004, 20:25:59

oh, yeah, that's not implemented.

I don't see a point of a getting a message after one's final move. I think only the opponent should get the message.

30. august 2004, 20:30:35
rod03801
The message contains the change in BKR, which the person making the final move would like to see also.

Emne: Re: Disable Pictures
Caissus, The reason I would like the option to disable the pictures is that I play at work and prefer to be less conspicuous. I also would prefer not to see them again, and again, and again, etcetera...

Emne: When I resign a game...
Believe it or not...I don't win every game. Some games I choose to resign. When I do, I am kicked back to the "Main Page". I would prefere to be sent to the next game. Or at least have an option like you do with the "Submit Move" button.

Your opponents won't take a draw because of their rating, so they're among the readers of those messages.

My god, how thoroughly impolite of me. MidnightMcMedic: please accept my apologies, I didn't mean to suggest that your rating is lower than that of any of your opponents.

Certainly convenient for review, another arguement for a direct link.
