General talk about movies, TV, radio, and other entertainment discussion.
Discussing favorite movies is a great topic but keep in mind some folks haven't seen the movie yet we may be discussing so don't give the endings away!

Just saw a Korean movie called Tae Guk Gi (called brotherhood of war in Canada) Pretty amazing movie and worth a rental for sure. Dubbed and/or subtitled in English.
nobleheart: Thanks for tip, I'll look into your link. I remember "lady in red" being okay at best; but I imagine if you add that French flair of romantic comedy, it would have to be great!
On a side note I also remember that " the lady in red" was one of the first movies (but not the first) to get slapped with a PG-13 rating. Anyone out there know which movie was the first to recieve a PG-13 rating?
this was the movie the americans re made as" the lady in red" ieth gene wilder.
I love gener wilder.
but this remake did not do all the bits that made the original hilarious.
and what they did do,they failed to make it funny,as it was in the original.
Pawnchucker: the french have a way way of dealing with love & humour in a way I love.
my fav french movie comedy of this type :

I know what ya mean, when I see a movie in the theater I walk away more or less disappointed and empty like, that's lately. And what happened to all the good actors?
I'm not goin' to the theaters again until they clean up their act (no pun intended) or a movie with Eddie murphy or Steve martin, or even Keith gordon comes out or all three!! I hope Spielburg is listenin' :)
i was disappointed with it. couldve been much better. not enough action and to much walking around like in 9/11.. however the king kong preview looked amazing!
If anyone is looking for a good high-octane action with a decent plot a-la Con Air or The Rock; I thought the movie Hostage was pretty entertaining. It came out on video last week.
Rose: I agree with you about movies like Memento or Butterfly Effect. Once the so called cat is out of the bag the movie loses most of its effectivenes. The exception are movies that have "movies within the movies" that change tone upon repeat viewings such as Fight Club, Usual Suspects, 6th Sense.
This used to be one of my favourite films.....watched it at the cinema & we were talking about it for days! It was made in 1990, pretty old now, but still definately worth watching if you havent seen it
Emne: Re: something interesting to do for movie buffs
Pawnchucker: The only thing with a movie like Memento is once you've watched it once you dont want to see it again. I found that with Butterful effect. Although I thought it was a great movie, I may not see it again.
Not seen Jacobs ladder tho. How old is it?
have you even seen a movie that is really a head trip.and you could talk for an hour on what you got out of the movie, and what you think the writer/director was trying to say?

I think you did a great job on writing this page dedicating the late great actress/movie star of her precious work she's done in movie/theatre.
Thank you, Ann Bancroft; for what you have given us.
... west is everwhere the sun goes ...
anyway - new zealand together with australia and
canada is well liked as creator, since long in germany ... ~*~ .
danoschek: what does 'west' indicate? This is a film directed by a new, young New Zealand guy (we got to meet him last night) who is really creating waves. Seems like New Zealand is turning out some great movie makers!
