mako887: it was a finish film so probably won't be in your book i wouldn't seek it out, but its listed on the internet movie database (imdb.com) if you really want to find it :)

harley: exorcist the beginning, yes good film.

harley: which exorcist movie? theres been a two recently that i know of, exorcist the beginning not a bad movie and dominion, same movie but not as good(even same lead actor?).

rose: i guess if you were familiar with aeon flux the anime you'd find it ok but it was very vague all the way through and seemed to start about halfway through the script

new world was disappointing, especially from such an excellent director. i was quuite enjoying it up to about half way through but it drifted along after that without much to say and nothing happening, pity could have been quite powerful given the subject matter.

other films to watch, in my humble opinion:
brokeback mountain - excellent film,

lower city - foreign lang film with strong sex/violence scenes but realistic all the same worth a watch if you find it.

walk the line, johnny cash story based on his autobiography. not a bad soundtrack

fun with dick and jane, decent comedy romp, usual stuff from jim carey.

running scarred - thought this would be crap because of paul walker but after a few good reports i watched it and too my suprise quite liked it, well worth a watch

Rose: typical ending yes but i don't think the other options would have made it a better movie.

there's a decent selection out from monday including cinderella man (russel crowe as jj braddock), red eye (a good thriller, woman is forced to put senators life at risk to save her father!) ,the business (the rise and fall of some english gangsters in spain) and four brothers (revenge story with mark wahlberg) haven't seen four brothers yet but rest are all worth a watch and are better than most of the stuff thats been released recently.

watched a couple of decent films this week, crash and united states of leland both quite powerful dramas.

cool i havent seen either, a mate keeps threatening to lend me the evening...and the other is on my to buy list.

i heard terrible things about alone in the dark in a few reviews. but descent is definately worth watching, its better in the first half in its exploration of the chlostophoric atmosphere b4 everything goes crazy but it maintains a decent jump factor.

the descent is a good horror if your looking for that kind of movie, its even a british movie!! or you could try mindhunters which is a decent thriller.

a good movie i saw recently was the jacket with adrian brody and keira knightly, kinda along the same lines of butterfly effect but i different kind of film.

apparently charlie theron is almost guaranteed it for monster but i haven't seen most of them as there not out over here yet!

ha ha the oscar nominations are out, whale rider got a best actress nomination, and to everybody's suprise the somewhat old film compared to the rest city of god got four nominations.

it's about a girl growing up in a male ruled new zealand (tribal) society where she is the current decendant to their "prophet" figure and how there being no direct male decendant affect the community and her struggle to try and become what she wants against the male leader, her grandfather.

edit- it's essentially about modern woman's struggle in the antiquated systems of patriarchy!
thats as much as i can say without giving anything away.

i watched whale rider the other day thats pretty good.

Animal Factory, Steve Buscemi directs, quality film well worth watching & released finally on boxing day Buffalo Soldiers another quality film
