(20. juli 2005, 15:37:42) According to Scottsdale, Arizona police detectives Robert Fisher murdered his entire family because he couldn't be bothered to get a divorce.
On the morning of April 10, 2001, police and fire units responded to reports of an explosion at the Fisher residence in Scottsdale.
Hours later when the fire was finally extinguished officials found three bodies inside the rubble, 38-year-old Mary Fisher, 12-year-old Britteny and 10-year-old Bobby Jr.
The tragedy soon turned horrific when authorities quickly determined that all three did not die in the fire, they had been murdered in their beds, the night before.
Mary had been shot in the back of the head and her throat slashed. The children's necks were also slashed.
Arson investigators say Fisher rigged the house to explode in hopes of covering up his crimes.
Police believe Fisher fled soon after the murders, taking his wife's SUV and the family dog, a Queensland Heeler named "Blue."
"Robert used to joke about his family, says a friend. He used to say, 'the kids are Mary's, the dog is mine.'"
THE HUNT FOR ROBERT FISHER
Ralph DiFonzo, AMW investigator
Ten days later, police located Mary Fisher's SUV abandoned in the Tonto National Forest, 100 miles north of Scottsdale.
Despite a massive search, all that was recovered was the family dog Blue. There was no sign of Robert Fisher or where he might have gone.
The FBI got involved a year later and Fisher was quickly added to the Top Ten Fugitive list.
Will the real Robert Fisher please stand up?
In 2003, AMW brought in renown FBI agent Ralph DiFonzo, a 30 year veteran, who's credited with personally catching two of the FBI Top Ten in addition to hundreds of violent fugitives.
While profiling Fisher, Agent DiFonzo discovered he was dealing with a man with a Jekyll-Hyde personality. Fisher's life was full of inconsistencies.
Fisher worked as a lowly hospital tech who bragged about saving lives. Yet on the weekends he hunted animals and smeared their blood on his body.
Fisher was a Born Again Christian, yet he frequented the seedier side of life, often cheating on his wife Mary.
The driving focus in Fisher's life was being in control. So when Mary Fisher confronted her husband about a divorce, Agent DiFonzo believes, is when Fisher decided to wipe the slate clean.
"This guy was a balance of good and evil it seemed like for a very long time," says Agent DiFonzo.
Despite seven airings on AMW, Fisher is still no where to be found. Could he be hiding in plain sight in small town America?

(19. juli 2005, 19:22:18) it'll be interesting to see with whose falling in the pond all this talk of murder ceases. and fun to then notify their local police.
?:
(19. juli 2005, 17:28:13) oh i agree, always pic them randomly if you value your freedom.. and a pond, lake or river makes for the best dump sites it washes away all the forensic evidence.
?:
(19. juli 2005, 15:08:21) ...actually thats not true, it's the random murder that is easiest to get away with. Any planned murder is doomed to fail.

(18. juli 2005, 18:41:46) a word of caution: a muderer who isn't detail-oriented enough to distinguish between "there," "their," and "they're" is not likely to be detail-oriented enough to get away with murder.

?:
(18. juli 2005, 15:29:04) I prefer a dull knife, their is more pain that way. I like surprising the victim to it quickens the heart and makes the blood gush better.
