Have the rules been changed regarding Pawns entering more than one tournament, or allowing them to enter new ones if they've advanced past the first round or have been eliminated? I ask because I noticed one of my opponents who is a BrainPawn member is in two running tournaments as I write this. Though he only has eight games going at the moment, I remember Fencer telling me that a BrainPawn member could only be in one tournament at a time.
I'am sincerly sorry for the delay in starting my Tournament due to the fact i've had technical difficulties,And having the Flu as well.Sorry for inconvenience regarding this matter.it will not happen AGAIN.
Currently there are five Janus Chess tournaments (of varying lengths) of which I am aware currently running on BrainKing.com. I want the chess-playing public to know about this intriguing chess variant here. At one point there was a Janus Chess Fellowship; I went looking, and did not find what I was looking for. I have a great love for the 8x10 board, and the possibilities it offers in terms of creative solutions for attack. Gothic is my favorite, but Janus Chess pulls at my attention. I have played through some great games, and for pure shock value, as well as breathing new vigor into an attack the (Janus=Archbishop) certainly packs a punch!
I want the Janus Chess Invitational to become a prize-centered tournament, if the right attention is given to it.
Sign up if you are interested in its becoming a prize-centered tourney.
Mad Monkey and Stevie would like to thank everyone for the show of support. The tournament I started in there names will continue, but with a twist. They have decided to donate a 6 month Rook membership to the winner of the tournament!!! I will donate a 6 month knight membership to the runner up!!! Thanks again everyone. Sign up's will continue until Wens, April 7th, 2004 8pm EST, 1am GMT. Good Luck to all!!!
Because of the low percentage of pawns in the tournament, I would ask that, even thought it's not required, if the winner is a paying member already, that you would dontate the memberships to a pawn. It's not required, but would only help to further along the site.
I also noticed we have only 5 pawns out of 67 signed up. All you pawns out there should consider joining the tournament if you have the room. If you like backgammon, you have 2 chances to win a paid membership.

If there is only 1 section, it will be a tie for all the players who win. (For some of the "Fast Start" tournaments with 5 players, there have been some that have been a 5 way tie!) Hopefully Fencer will look into letting the tournament creater do at least 1 or 2 "tie breaker" sections to break ties.... without going on forever.
IMCK - Right now it's not set up that way, but hopefully that is something else Fencer will consider doing as an improvement.
Is it possiblr to start the next round of a tournament, where all the winners are determined, yet there are still some games being completed that won't affect the outcome?
Want to start straight into the action and tactics of chess? Then come and test yourself. Whether you want to start from the crown of your favorite opening or want to experience the joy of the Tabiy'at from the Caissic ancestor, Shatranj, PLAY THE GAME!

A little info on the tournament.
The tournament has started! 100 people are playing. 20 different sections which means 20 pawns will become members with a winner in each section. More if there's a tie.
Fencer was extremely generous there.
I have 99 people down as paid with 4 still having money on it's way for a total of 103 people paid.
No total yet on amount of money collected.
I think this tournament was a huge success. Thanks to everyone that entered or donated to this event.
This ones for you. ((((((hugs))))))
Lot's "O" Luck in the tournament everyone. Have fun. ;•)
Lydanthe-- maybe you can have those 2 players play a tie breaker game. have one invite the other, and then the winner would be declared, although on the winner's page for that tournament, it will list both as winners.
The point is that a tournament has sections. If only one section is created, the tournament has only one round. Otherwise, winners of each section will create new sections in the next round. The whole tournament is finished after completing the section which is the only one in the last round.
Are not tournaments supposed to go on until there is only one winner of each game type?
I wanted to congratulate alesh and gasper for winning (a tie) round 2 of Backgammon in the Brotherly Love (Beginners) tournament, whom I assumed would be going to round three, but I see no 'start next round' button??
Holy Moother a Jaysus...
it is becoming harder and harder to get an answer on this gawd damn site :(:(:(:(
I deleted this way down and brought it to the top because i didnt want it to get lost
Query???
I have a tournament that has been running since last August to my knowledge:( ...it is called Bernice's Best BattleBoats Bruhaha (Battleboats)
Now the first round has just finished, there were only 14 players and it was a 5 day mover.
Im reluctant to start the 2nd round owing to the fact that ONE player has taken since forever to make their moves. This will be a 3 game match...Can someone change it to a sudden death playoff, and I will start it. other wise how can it be deleted with 1/2 tournament win give to the 2 people concerned
Clean up BK?? Is that what you call it? Sounds suspiciously like those good people who show natives the error of their ways elsewhere mentioned. Am I, too, on the 'clean out' list?
It's March 28th! I'm going to start the tournament in 15 minutes at 6 PM Pacific Standard Time.
Just incase any are thinking of getting in. Hope to see you there, and good luck.
And I'm not mad and I still disagree with the decision to remove MM and Steve. They could have had posting privledges removed first. They are first and foremost customers of BK. Just my Opinion. Welcome to the Former Hot Head's Club. I'm president.
