I am forced to finish in second place because of the S-B totals even though the first place winner is rated almost 300 points higher than me. I deserved to have a playoff with him for the tournament title. He and I split our two games so that alone should have been given credence. This feels wrong. I am definitely not a proponent of the S-B.

computeropponen: This board is for Tournaments, Team Tournaments and anything relating to them. Please take this discussion the relevant Discussion Board. You have been asked previously
when some one bought a computer program, what is he going to do? he want to test how strong the program will be, usually to challenge the stronger player.
Hrqls: playing against a computer, one error will cost you the whole game. it is not the same when you play vs human, especially against a weaker opponent who may make mistake or miss the good move later on you can come back to the game even when you play against an equal opponent, one error will put you in a very bad position you have to play very hard hoping to survive if you made a carelee quick move....
computeropponen: if you want anything to be done with your post, please post it on the chess board
there are many experienced chess players who read the chess board, and they might be able to analyze your game to determine if its likely to be a computer or not
btw 50% of my moves are careless and quick as well, but sometimes lucky enough to be not too bad :)
my user ID is computeropponent. i have said that no cheater @ this site only suspect. This time i found myself is playing against a true computer cheater(suspect). the computer move looks not thing special but it is deep. i underestimated my opponent rated just 18xx. he move very slowly i just made a careless quick move. re: my game vs xxxxxxxxxx chinese chess.
beach: well someone had a whole lot of time on their hands! A special filter to filter out unwanted tourney sponsors whould be nice. Also, a limit on how many tourneys one can start at one time. Also, zap all tourneys that don't meet the signup deadline.
Wish there was a way that could prevent people from posting 300 tournaments on the board they sit there for 30 days past the deadline then they add 300 tournaments posted by the same person I went to find other tournaments and cannot find anything because the tournament page is flooded by one person I find it frustrating sorry but I just had to vent here
computeropponen: could you please reply to a message using the "box" link next to the "reply: link underneath a message? that way anyone reading your posts can click on "show thread" to follow the topic itself and we dont have to dig other posts which belong to another thread ...
computeropponen: sorry, i dont understand your question? i am just a mod on the brainking.com board (and the dutch board), nowhere else .. if you want to discuss the way a board is being moderated please discuss it with the moderator of that specific board
i am just an ordinary player on this board
the discussion i saw from you on this board though wasnt about moderating but about possible cheating and ratings and chess, not about the moderating :)
fyi: the picture is my son who was seriously ill, but is ok now (6 monthly medical checkup the following years), but that talk doesnt belong on this board :)
(forgot about 2 other boards, i am also a mod on the books and the jarmo boards)
Hrqls: i did not know you are the Moderator of other discuss board until i post on the brainking discuss. it is good for me to discuss with the guy watch the board. i don't like your yellow picture, but i like to discuss my thought abt this site openly with a moderator.
Assunto: Re: re: why Hou Yifan is women world champion
MadMonkey: my topic to discuss is: you should play a stronger player to improve yourself. don't pick the weak one just for winning and get BKR point. ok. thanks for your advise. this is my last post. no more....
Assunto: re: why Hou Yifan is women world champion
Fide Women's World champion, 19-year-old GM Hou Yifan of china won the champion covincingly. her rating 2609 higher than her opponent's 2500. the most important is she has played in tournament of men's group, her middle and end game skill is stronger.
Retep: i don't know some one cheating on chess, in my opinion @ this site there are only suspects, no one is proved a cheater. for an ordinary chess player, there are something you can learn by playing here, if you don't care abt win or lose. for a serious player you will pick up the bad habit, the time trouble. because it is not the right way to play in the real game
computeropponen: Before Brainking I only played ordinary chess, too. You could try some variants. I don't play ordinary chess online because of the cheating
Retep: at the high level of chess tournament so many games are decided by who can play under time pressure. you have to move fast, think fast, find the correct move in a short time. sorry i just talk about chess, or chinese chess. i don't know anything beside these two. so i don't have hundreds or thousands games to play
computeropponen: Some people have hundreds or even thousands of games and always use the full time limit.. some others move very fast.. I'm an average player with 200+ games and quite some moves every day
the game i play black, i made a mistake for moving quickly. i beat him at last because he played the way i wanted to move fast. he finally blunder under time pressure. people move very very slowly to make me sick. i lost interest and the game. i'm sick of people seeing my move and logout, again and again and again....
