Do you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here? Post your request into this board! If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board.
It is quite difficult to reach the higher rankings in some games. Some players, who certainly deserve their ranking by playing well within the years, are very alone on their top rankings.
How about changing the BKR system in order to get more movement in the rankings: Lets look for example at the ranking system in professional tennis: The points you earn count for one year and not forever. This makes sure that players are on the top, who play well and who are doing it "now"... .
This fearute would encourage more the players who play much and who want to get to the top, even if they are not as "experienced" as the long-term-best... .
talen314: Combining games would be really cool to do. I don;t think it would be easy to build, but an Extended Chess game where players could combine two or three games would be awesome. Oh, and of course, if it would be legally possible, SuperChess.
Actually I would accept any new game soon. It is really a while ago that a new game was released. How about Dots and Boxes?
A feature I would like to see is one that would allow a user to limit the waiting games shown to only time limits desired. (If a person does not like 30 limits or very fast limits they would not be shown.)
I ran across an article about a variant called Knightmate Relay Chess which is exactly what it sounds like, a combination of Knightmate Chess and Knight Relay Chess.
brain008: I need interactive boards for improve my skills. Mostly I'd like to find board for cheversi (with counting points after every move) because I think I could solve this game. Can anyone help me?
I'd like to see (and can use) such feature like boards for analysis all possible games. I mean boards for playing by myself for training and analysis purposes. With undo/redo option for moves and save/load current position in game as well.
Fencer: yep. you are right :-D as brainking is played all over the world - I just thought about the poor europeans who suffered from such a long winter!
thechosen0ne: I think you are missing the point. All I would like is to have the option of having unlimited amount of players. Only having 4 players is too small as some players miss out due the time difference. And sometimes I can't get 8 players if I tick the 8 box.
crosseyed: Great idea. In single elimination tourneys your seed number is determined by your rating. The total number of players need not be a power of 2.
The formula is: start off with 2 players. The 3rd player will play the 2nd and seed 1 will have a bye in the first round. 4th plays first. Adding a 5th will play the lowest seed, #4, and the higher 3 will get 1st round byes. Each additional seed will play the lowest seed with a bye in the 1st round until there is a power of two. the next lower seed after that will play the lowest seed and all others above will get byes for the 1st round. simple right?

Maximum number of players: (box) Leave blank if the number of players of your tournament is not limited. Is there any chance that this could done when setting up single elimation games? At present you have to put 4,8, etc.
rod03801: Ah ok ... i didnt notice ... in that case my request would be to make it more extreme as playing plakoto as another gammon type is quite extreme as well .. maybe the board itself could be another color? (like keryo pente vs normal pente)
today i made a move in a plakoto game as if it were a normal backgammon game ... this can happen in various game types, but in plakoto this can be especially harmful
i would like a visual way which draws my attention to show that it's plakoto :)
thechosen0ne: I like this idea. As a chess player I tend to set up a physical board to do analysis, but this is tricky for Grand Chess where I don't have a 10x10 board at home!
Assunto: Re: cryptographic random number generator
Thom27: that would imply that separate random number context is saved for every game, but that should be doable, after all, it's just two more fields at the game. This can be even realized without implementing any new algorithm - the current algorithm could be published and the seed number stored in that way. Publishing the algorithm would be a good idea in itself, so anyone could verify that it is good (or not good), and stop whining (Yes, there are people who would still whine because they don't understand math, but we could just ignore those)
I request a random number generator based on a cryptographic hash function, for example SHA-1, using the ready-made PHP-function sha1().
Every game is assigned a secret key. The key is concatenated with the move number and input to the hash function. The dice rolls are determined from the hash.
The advantages: 1. this will create random numbers with very good statistical properties, practically as good as real random numbers. 2. Predicting the dice rolls is infeasible when the key is secret, even if the algorithm is published. 3. After the end of the game the key can be revealed, so that everyone (or at least programmers) can check if the dice have been rolled correctly. The players need no longer be sucpicious if the random number generator is bad or buggy.
Like on chess.com, there should be games where people can join one side and vote every 24 hours or so, except have one for every variant. At a certain time, the results will be tallied and the most popular move will be played.
There should be a feature where you can open a separate window specifically used for game analysis, where you can move the pieces around and see what happens looking ahead before making your move. It's already been done on gameknot.com. It would work much better with In-Game Javascript as I suggested!
thechosen0ne: This will make it much easier for mobile users, because loading the page each time you flip through or make a move will make it extremely frustrating!
As computer science student I suggest that javascript be used in games, just like on gameknot.com. This will make it a lot easier when making a move and flipping through games, because the page won't have to reload each time.
In addition to the feature of Conditional Moves, whenever there is only one possible move in a game, that move is made automatically as a conditional move, saving time and reducing redundancy. It saves the opponent one login per forced move.
Here's a variant that should be easy to implement: Anti Massacre Chess, where the rules are exactly the same as Massacre Chess except the first person unable to move wins!
Is there any possibility of having Conditional moves here? It would be handy when there is a sequence of forced moves etc.,both players want to play a particular chess opening etc. we don't have them at Gold Token either, at least not yet. One can always hope. :)
