Do you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here? Post your request into this board! If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board.
Tuesday: Yeah, and I'm being serious. They have that on FaceBook and I love it.
I'd also like it that if someone is blocked, they can't even access any info on your account. As it is now, you can have a person on your friend's list even if they have you on their blocked list. lol ;)
Are there any plans in BK3 for fellowships to beable to delete smilies or put them in folders (like smilies for Christmas; happy smilies' dancing ones' etc?)
In some forums you have a timed edit feature. You get a limited about of time to edit a post and after that the edit feature is gone.
Is it possible to implement that feature in the fellowships? It would be nice to have it so that for the poster, the edit feature is timed but for moderators and BB there is no time restrictions. :)
I love the notepad feature here and use it a lot. Tonight I was moving a few things and accidently deleted a couple of things I wanted to save. grrrr
Here's my request: Could the delete button be moved more to the right? As it is, it seems natural to set the drop down to the file area you want and then click the button to the right. But that's the delete!
Moving the delete button would help. Maybe I'm the only one that does this. Twice! ;)
Snoopy: A post should not be removed without the main mod knowing the details:
The Main moderator (the one listed first) is in charge of the board, with the other moderators around to help watch while the main moderator is off-line.
Also, the poster deserves an explanation:
If a post does not fall into the site guidelines, the moderator should:
1. Edit post for content if rest of the post belongs in the board. 2. Remove the post if none of the post belongs in the board. 3. Warn user IN PRIVATE about edited/removed post, and point them to guidelines if needed.
It happens rarely which is likey why it happened to you. At least in my experience, deleting or editing posts is rare these days. A procedural error in this case but easy to fix by reminding all mods to review the procedures. I'm sure I've made the same mistake in the past.
I do like your idea but it will likely depend on the coding requirements and priorities. ;)

could we get a "no play list" set up on the stairs games? He has plenty of others he can invite to a game and he knows I don't want to play him. He holds up games and is in general a pain. If there is only one person on the tier, then playing them could be forced but if he has other choices, he should play them. Otherwise maybe he needs to be banned from there as well. It is afterall another form of a tournament.
Thad:Time controls are a major part of games. As an over the board chess player, I can tell you that the time factor weighs heavily on the game's outcome. One must use his time wisely or find himself making hasty moves.
There is a reason for the time controls. And when people sign up for tourneys, many do so with the time controls in mind. I always do this. I expect reasonable time off periods for weekends and vacations. But when vacations days become a method to avoid any timeouts, that is abuse IMO.
I believe that a majority of people agree that some restrictions on vacation days is in order. I think that fact matters more than any $ that can be made by allowing people to purchase more vacation days.
The person in question here abuses the system. He holds up tournaments, plays games down to the last seconds even if losing, and he does so just to annoy his opponents.
He was out of vacation days a week ago. I was playing a game with him (1 day move) and he was moving in a timely way. Now he's timed out once so has 34 days of vac left. Plus, just now, he let the clock run down to about 1 min before making his move.
I'm a black rook so don't have to consider buying future memberships. But if I weren't a lifetime member, I'd think very seriously about renewing. I suspect others feel the same way. How is it beneficial if 10 people get fed up with the current system and won't renew as a result just so a couple of people can purchase multiple blocks of vacation days?
BTW, they aren't vacation days when misused. They are nothing more than insurance against timing out in a game. I am totally opposed to such a thing.
Fencer:With all due respect: 35 already used days plus 35 new days is 70 for the year and it's not fair to the rest of us. The person in question has been making timely moves in our current games but when he had vacation days he used those to both prolong games and prolong tourneys. He does this sort of thing to many members on BK and he has even held up tourneys in games he is clearly losing. I don't see why anyone can buy more vacation days. The ability to buy more days defeats the purpose of time controls. And the bottom line, it's not fair to the rest of us paying members.
AbigailII: I am playing him too and am having the same problem. Since the beginning of the year, he's used up most of his vacation days delaying tourneys and delaying individual games. He's at 14 left for the year. At this rate, he'll have used his entire year in less than two months. Many have complained so I hope there will a stop to this so no additional vacation days can be purchased by anyone for any reason. If 35 days isn't enough, then people ought to play fewer games or be forced to lose. 6 moves in 6 months should be an automatic loss for the offender.

is the reason I run tourneys with no vacation days and sometimes no days off etc. I don't join tourneys that have more than 5 days per move. I know of no easy solution to the abuse but clearly some changes will help alleviate some of the abuse. I'd like to see it where a person who uses up their vacation days has no possibility of getting new days added one for ANY reason. Either that or remove auto vac days.
***BTW, I'm at 0 on vac days left and it's been like that for a few months. Too bad for me. Now guess what? I either move or time out and lose. That's the way it should be. In a few days I'll get 40 days vacation. That's wayyyyy too many. It's fine for people who use them legitimately but not so much for those that abuse their purpose.
Is it possible to exclude a player from a tourney (as opposed to removing them after they have joined)? I know we can host "invite only" tourneys but what about a tourney where you want it open to everyone but want to exclude certain player(s)? (you know, like chronic very slow movers!)
Assunto: Maybe this is already possible or maybe discussed before but....
I am the captain of most of the teams in my fs. The players change here and there on some of the teams and I have to look up each team individually to see who is on, how many are on the team. It would be nice is all teams with say three or more players registered would all show up on an individual list. This way if I'm short a player on a team or two, I can see it at a glance and deal with finding additional players.
francescolr: He's already beaten all other sites. ;)
The only thing left to improve this site
Is to impliment autopass with all his might
But if autopass has no system support
I will be defeated and have no retort
No matter the outcome
Here's a sure bet
Brainking's the best games site
Anywhere on the net!
jurek: Part of "the game" is clicking the "move" button. I think once you've moved a "take back" takes away from the game. In many games, someone has to make a weaker move for the other to win. I've made a few blunders myself and would like to have had them back. But probably wouldn't have asked. it just doesn't seem right.
