Summertop: How long have you been using it if you dont mind me asking? I find spybot ok but there are soo many files it wont delete that I wonder if there is a better program out there to try.
does anyone else notice the same games again ... make a move you already made .. your opponent moves right away (although he isnt even online) .. and you can move again
you read some boards which shows new messages which were new some hours ago (while you see those you see a different number of waiting games in the title bar) .. when you refresh the page you suddenly see the correct of new posts and the correct number of waiting games in the title bar
i am on an old computer now .. my normal computer crashed badly yesterday .. reinstalling windows on it now .. so maybe its this old beast which is causing problems on me ;)
Using firefox for the first time playing here at BK. Any one else get this strange occurrance?
When you click your game move the page and board appear to the right(not far right just not centre) then quickly shift over to the left once the friends online list appears? Really annoying when playing dark boats and you try to fire in succession and the board's moving around.
Rose: I have been using the microsoft anti-spyware tool for about a month. It gives you more capabilites in fighting browser hijackers and plug-ins. I haven't had a problem removing spyware with it...yet. I was using the free version of ad-aware, but it couldn't remove some spyware. I actualy bought the upgraded version and it finally did remove some pesky spyware (not even spybot could remove them).
Rose: I have seen this with firefox too. Not just on brainking. The rendering engine seems to start displaying objects as soon as they are rendered, even if other objects that could affect position haven't been rendered yet. It is quite annoying.
Summertop: Thanks for the info friend. I think I may give it a whirl! Im not happy with Ad-aware at all and so far Spybot just isnt' removing them all and there are registry ones that I'm not about to try to delete. Last time I tried to delete files from my reg I crashed hard!
Thanks again!
Rose: That was my biggest complaint when i first started using firefox. Very quick on all other sites, but like your problem Rose - slowed me down here. So I used firefox almost everywhere else and IE here.
Now Firefox works great for me. The way I solved it was to move to a faster internet connection (but of course that is not a solution for everyone.)
The problem: Firefox websites quicker because they start to show you things right away. But for BrainKing, that backfires a little because first it shows you the left frame (main menu). It then moves that over to also show the middle fram (game board). It then moves that over to show you the right frame.
Hrqls: one way this can happen is if your date is set wrong on your pc , its happened to me before using wrong date ... but not noticed anything since.
BIG BAD WOLF: Thanks dude. I cant get a quicker net connection. I have the fastest high speed cable available in my province. My machine is super fast etc.. As Volant says it will go away so I will wait and see if it calms down. It is sooo annoying on some games! LOL
Exactly! that 'shuffle' is weird but for some reason not as bad as it was when I first came on a few hours ago.. It is like the browser is learning to conform with BK! LOL
Firefox - The tabs are cool - multiply tabs instead of having multiply windows.
If you click on a link with the middle button (Mouse button), it will automaticly open in a new tab in Firefox (no need to right click and choose new tab)
BIG BAD WOLF: I'm liking that feature big time. I have messages, games and boards in diff tabs! Then you can have other sites open in other windows. Way kool!
Ok so it only took months of Fencer telling us all to get this that I finally got it going! WOOOHOO

Fencer: ahhh Fencer a little bit of "pat-o'back" goes a long way, but in a couple days you will be the opposite hehehe a fallen angel ROFLMBO...because you wont allow "auto-pass" or some such silly suggestion HAHAHAHAHAHHA
Jason: thats whats been happening then! i was working on my old pc ... which battery is empty .. when i start it up i am hold .. have to go into the bios first .. make it recognize my harddisk, save the settings (which also saves more properties) .. and then it will boot up ok
the date is set back to its start though .. i forgot which date .. but quite some days in the past :)
thanks for finding the cause ... now i can sleep again

Czechgirl: it is downloading while you listen,
you just have to catch it ... there are programs recording
directly from the soundcard ... www.cnet.com freeware e.g. ~*~

danoschek: The problem is that all these programs give me choice of "their" radios. But I have a specific radio I want to record from. Do you know any software that would let me choose my own station??
Any recording device should work? Get the recording software to record from the SoundCard and not Line-In, then play the radio on the sound card while recording!!
I have certainly used this method to record Internet Phone Calls and such, so dont see it being any different for radio? Although have never wanted to record that LOL

Czechgirl: there are loads of station-independent programs ...
I am using JetAudio for it, normally - but its commercial version ...
- here is the link to RadioRipper a popular freeware ... good luck ... ~*~
Can someone please give me a brief description or point me in the direction of a website that explains home networking. I recently bought a wireless G modem/router and i have managed to connect my 3 pc's to the net, two via Lan from router and one via wireless network card. the thing i don't know how to do is share files between the pc's. i don't know where abouts on Windows to look. I have named all my pc's and give them all the same workgroup name, but that's as far as i've got.
RAHVIN666: My suggestion is that you go to the routers webpage (is it Linksys?) Im no expert tho. We have five computers here connected to router and a hub..(WITH wires) and it works fine, can be slow if 2 people are downloading music or videos at the same time tho :)
Andersp: Use a program, something like nero. that has the option of making music cd's, VCD's and DVD's. just select the option you want and it does the rest for you.
RAHVIN666: Im litterally doing this as we speak...I set up the router and main pc wired.
Its weird cos it seems like my web browsing has speeded up alot??? is this normal?
while waiting for answer I better get the wireless for the laptop sorted LOL

Andersp:
Rahvin66 gave a good answer and i just want to add a great site for explaining this sort of things including how to make VCD's from anykind video format.

Ferjo and Rahvin: Thanks..yes i have tried Nero and the cd works fine using a pc but when i try to watch it on TV (dvd-player) i have "ERROR"
Ill keep trying, the link (yup it works fine now ) seems to have a lot of good info...thanks both.
Stevie we have noticed a speed increase too after installing the router so if you are abnormal ..you're not alone LOL
Yea, it is most likely to do with what format the DVD player can read. My nicer 5-DVD changer will play some VCD's (SVCD I believe), but will not play others.
My very cheapy DVD player in the bedroom will actually play much more - all the VCD formats plus more.
BBW can you please edit my messages? And I apologise for the incovenience.
On that link site theres a huge list of a variety of DVD Players, and for each one it says what formats that can really play (not just what it says in the manual).
Mine too, BBW. I got a writer for my home vids, so I could put them on DVD. All I knew was that they saved on the PC in AVI format. I looked at DVD players in the shop and the cheapest there (about £45 I think) had AVI on the box so I bought it, and it does loads more than I'd hoped!
it's a highqual dvd player noname by phillips - best yuv of all plays mpeg4
as well, so I am not restricted whatsoever - for standard players - there are free
programs like filmmaker and moviejack dvd mastering even all imaginable menu stuff ... ~*~
Aragon, Danoschek: Thanks for reply and some advices...I got the winner: DreamSoft Media Streamer. You can download any (czech) radio you want. It's great. Thanks again.
Andersp:
So a Samsung Combo Drive, right?
Well Samsung sells its products with Nero Software, so in theory your burner should work with Nero... And I think even this particular model come with Nero on some kits.
