Just found some tickets and ordered them... right on the rail on the upper deck. The good thing is they are in the perfect spot for the side our team will shoot at twice... so I am pretty excited! Under $200 total. My bro better be happy with his Christmas present. ;-)
Puckish: They are expensive... but I am looking at tickets either there or lower level up about 15 rows. (Since I won't ever get right on the ice which has good views...) I don't want to be in that lower group of rows where you can't see anything near side. So up 15 rows or so I think will let me see most of the game pretty well. :-) What do you think?
I am looking at the Wild-Flames game in Minnesota. It should be a good game since they have been battling all year, and have identical records... plus they hate each other! The downside is the tickets cost more than most other games, but for good reason!
Puckish: They always seem to make it a close game though... even the Cowboys game was close in the end with the Packers passing toned down to Rodgers level of play... Not quite the same as Favre! The NFL might be happy about the Pack; it gives them a good story in the NFC, a team (w/ a healthy Favre) to rival the Cowboys, and they always make the game fairly close... just what the NFL wants so it can rack up the advertising bucks!
By the way, does anyone else think Rodgers looks like Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!?

The NFL Network for DirecTV here in Minnesota is 212... I think it is national as well... Does that help?
I think the Packers are overrated... They have won games against a couple of teams they should have lost to... Eagles game (last second field goal for the win), first Vikes game (I'm a Vikes fan, the Vikes played better most of the game, and somehow lost... DANG IT), Redskins game (turnovers returned for TD did in the Skins), Broncos game (you remember this crap!?!)...
The Cowboys beating them puts them at 10-2, but it should be 7-5 or 6-6. They look much more like a 7-5 team! If the Pack were in the AFC they would probably be sub .500! That shows the disparity between the conferences in my opinion. AFC plus Dallas are the NFL. (Not quite, but it seems like that!)
On another note; what happened to the Bears, Saints, Seahawks, Cards, 49ers? Were't these suppose to be significantly better teams this year? I don't get it... The Vikes with three more wins might make the playoffs and they have wide receivers and running backs playing quarterback... Don't forget the league worst passing defense... How does that get you into the playoffs? It just might because the NFC is just that bad.
awesome: I've been watching them play tonight, and he is playing very well! Seriously he reminds me of Magic tonight. Maybe it is just a one time thing... I don't know.
Suns - Warriors game is good tonight! Warriors ran it up in the first half... and the Suns are coming back!
Since there has been no talk of any sport for over a week and half...
Any NBA watchers see the fight? Melo... 15 days... a cool half million fine for each team... What is your take on it?
I think the coach should get fined or suspended for telling players to make the hard foul! All the evidence is there... it's sort of like the O.J. thing. It only makes sense that he did it, but yet he's off scott free!
Walter Montego: It was quite amazing actually... you could see on TV that he broke both bones in his arm, halfway between his wrist and elbow, and it was bent so that your hand could almost touch your elbow if he tried... YUCK.
Bruno Jesus: I think you are incorrect... The US team will be a major force in the future in the world of soccer. Not this year, maybe not even in 4 years. But give a few more cups and the US will do well. They were ranked 5th this year in the world... they have the talent, they don't have the experience. They will learn this, and will make themselves play other tournament proven teams before future cups.
Assunto: Re: The Sabre's and baseball, in a new light
Jim Dandy: What do you mean by fallback position? What did he get if he didn't have to do the deed? Nothing. He said it, and was fully prepared to do it. He had a "crappy" pair of pants while watching the Sabres game. He giggled with glee when they won. I watched the game in my room, and heard him from down the hall... it was quite hilarious actually!
I'm so sad... the Sabres lost. No, I am not a fan of the Sabres, but a friend of mine said he would "deficate"* his pants if they swept the series... what a ridiculous statement... he almost paid for it!
On that note, we also have 30 guys that have each picked a different baseball team, and if there team wins the Series... well, you guessed it. Is that weird!? I think it is! I got the Mariners. LOL Yes, every single team has a guy... so someone is going to...
This all started back when one guy said something to the effect of "If Pujols jacks this one out (during the Astro's series), I'll 'do it'". Guess what happened... LOL Pujols homered... guess what he did... LOL So it is an ongoing joke.
Jim Dandy: To be completely honest, I think almost all of the USC players are going to not live up to the hype. They all were surrounded by solid college players. When you play with people that are solid, you play much better too... you can work with each other, work off each other... teams with one main guy, that find a way to win with that one guy... well that one guy might get a lot better in the NFL when he does get around other good players. However, I think Reggie Bush is still pretty phenominal. :-)
What do American Football fans think of the recent draft? Who got the best deal? Who got the worst deal!?
I think Reggie Bush in New Orleans is a good fit. He single handily can revitalize the Saints, and the city. I personally don't know what the Texans were thinking when they passed on Bush... Reggie that is! LOL
Wow BA! That's a lot! I have approx. 15,000 cards. They are almost all from the late 80's and early 90's. I have a couple of complete sets simply from getting packs of cards as a youngster. Almost all of my cards are baseball cards, but I did get into basketball cards for a bit towards the end of my collecting days (about 1,000 cards that aren't baseball). I haven't looked at my cards for probably 5 years... I used to have my "book of value", and every card I had in there was at least $5. I full book with 120 pages... 8 to a page with a price sheet in the middle sleeve if people wanted to buy a specific card. I still have that book, as it was, with prices from a July 1999 Beckett... LOL
Baked Alaskan: That is weird... because when I even roll my cards a little, they will bend, and not roll into something that could be put into a cardboard tube... Weird. Must be some kind of weird material like stock card...
Baked Alaskan: You could even watch the people who bid on that one and contact them about yours and any future e-bay auction you may do. Between the people who are bidding for that one who don't get it and people who stumble upon it, you could probably get more for it than that guy! Also, because it might be nicer... no tear in the corner!
Baked Alaskan: Well my initial guess after hearing about this was $100-$150. E-bay I guess is selling for much lower than that... So either I am much to high or the auction will jump towards the end when time is running out... We'll see. I might me wrong. I am also concerned that this was produced in mass, since the E-bay one has a sticker with 01001 on it... if that's the case, I would not think it would be hundred bucks. I guess we'll all find out soon enough! :-)
Vikings: That is true, that is what I am waiting for... :-) It might very well be General Mills or something... Once Baked Alaskan lets us know we can all go our seperate ways and see if we can figure this mystery out... :-)
Vikings: I totally agree with you, but the uncut cards are higher than the same quantity of cards of a regular "cut" Shaq rookie card. If you look in Beckett, it shows that many of his rookie cards are $5-$10 or more. (About twos years ago I sold 3 Shaq rookies at the height of his popularity for $50. Nothing special about those cards... but he has lost some popularity to many others... including former teammate Mr. Ra... oops... Mr. Bryant and now Mr. Wade...) If he has a sheet that is 5x6 (I think this is standard sheet size???), it is very likely hundreds of dollars. It depends on the maker, and the demand for that type of card... We will find out more I am sure. E-bay could be a good source, but after my first initial search I found nothing.
Baked Alaskan: No!! Don't cut them up! They are worth much more together! You do have a rare find. May I ask the circumstances of how you came across this find?
Also, let me know what kind of cards they are (company: Fleer Ultra, Upper Deck, Stadium Club, etc.) How big is the sheet, 5x6?
I can pass this info a long to a friend of mine and either he or someone he knows should know...
