While it might be true to say at a local level many democrats still were voted in, AT A NATIONAL LEVEL a switch was made due to the civil rights laws.. where the people had voted NATIONALLY for Democrats, they switched and voted for the Republicans as they then were without any real voter base and used the vacuum, by becoming aligned with the POLICIES AT A NATIONAL LEVEL the voters wanted. |
