Noiembrie 2006, 03:50:56 Subiectul: heY fencer!!! - I have a really great unique idea for a word game for those who like word games... the thing about this.it is a clever idea for a word game,but the graphics do not need to be elaborate. the required graphics for the program would not be very complex to code. it could be put together relatively very quickly if desired. I dont think I have seen this game anywhere,so I think it is a unique idea..I hope. ok,the game: how about a board of squares,say 15 X 15...or 20X20. each player in turn simply places a letter on any square. players alternate turns placing letters. the object is to create words.the bigger the better score,adding to existing words is allowed. trying not to help your opponent,but helping yourself is the strategy. a variation on the game could be that for a turn,in place of placing a letter on the board. any letter on the board can be changed,and any words resulting from this would be scored. I hope our fearless leader sees this ,if so please comment. 26. Noiembrie 2006, 20:19:29 Subiectul: Re: heY fencer!!! - I have a really great unique idea for a word game for those who like word games...  nobleheart: um...minus your suggested variation, this game is called Scrabble. you really have never seen it?? it's been an extremely popular and well-known board game for many decades. and Fencer would have to be careful how he implemented it - no references to Scrabble anywhere - because i know of one excellent website dedicated to this game that was shut down through legal action by Hasbro on grounds of copyright infringement. it appears it can be done legally though. http://www.bugcafe.net/ offers the game and hasn't been taken down...at least not yet... 26. Noiembrie 2006, 20:32:48 Subiectul: Re: heY fencer!!! - I have a really great unique idea for a word game for those who like word games... plaintiger: we have a game called 'boardscript' .. its like scrabble .. but you play with 8 letters instead of 7, and when you use all (8) letters you dont het an extra bonus of 50 points, but your get an extra 'double word value' added (which is often less than 50 points :)) .. also the value per letter has been changed a bit . but the rest is completely the same as scrabble 7. Decembrie 2006, 21:41:45) plaintiger: tiger that game idea IS NOT scrabble,too bad u did not read or comprehend well. one letter at a time place anywere...turn based...the strategy idea to make words but avoid helping your opponent...turn based..you get the drift yet? NOT scrabble,because as as most know,hasbro has the copyrights & freaksout at even "scrabble clones" by other names. |
