Artful Dodger: And even more disgusting is Spike Lee tweeting what he THOUGHT was zimmerman's address. How irresponsible, especially since those pleasant racist Black Panthers have put a "bounty" on his head. AND it turns out it was someone else's address!!!! I hope someone sues his pants off.
Artful Dodger: Exactly. Another case where the media leapt too quickly and gave incorrect facts before checking everything out. PITIFUL. and inexcusable. IF it is not what everyone assumed at first, he will never get a fair trial. I think it's disgusting.
LAURENS, S.C. (AP) The South Carolina Republican Party is rejecting a proposal by the Laurens County GOP to require candidates to sign a pledge on conservative values.
The pledge would require candidates to promise they have not had premarital sex, will be faithful to their spouses and will not watch pornography.
The pledge endorsed by Laurens County Republicans last month also requires candidates to protect gun rights, oppose abortion under any circumstances, endorse balanced budgets and oppose same-sex marriage.
State Republican Party executive director Matt Moore says it would be illegal for the Laurens County party to deny ballot access to candidates who refuse to sign the pledge.
Laurens GOP Chairman Bobby Smith says the party will not do that, but hopes the pledge will encourage good values by Republican candidates.
Субъект: Re: But stopping using fossil fuels all at once certainly won't get us there either.
(V): It's not that complicated. You enjoy arguing, for arguing sake. The quote explains the question. You made the statement as though someone else had used the statement as some sort of fact, yet no one had even said it. It's just the way you love going round and round and round.
Субъект: Re: you can cite all the isolated green energy "successes" you want but that won't prove that the entire world can be sustained by these technologies. In fact, they can't.
(V):
"Artful Dodger: Is that a reason to stop building more green energy supply systems... no."
But WHO said anything about stopping? I don't recall anyone suggesting THAT.
I'm sure everyone (except possibly the oil companies) would prefer that SOME day we ARE at that point. But we aren't yet. There has to be a reasonable way to reach that point. But stopping using fossil fuels all at once certainly won't get us there either.
Субъект: Re: Obama is president and you seem to be forgetting that fact.
(V): Seems you're keeping to that "prediction" though, because I don't recall accusing any lib of "putting words in my mouth", though you just seem to have done it. That IS quite a moment, eh?
Iamon lyme: I think I disagree a bit with "survival of the fittest has nothing to do with right and wrong"
I personally can see how knowing what is acceptable and not acceptable in one's society would be pretty crucial/beneficial to "survival". (Without your morality being grounded in "God")
Of course I could be misunderstanding your point completely.
And yes, most stuff out of that book is quoted out of context. It makes my point in a weird way, that anything in that book can be used for whatever someone wants it to be used for.
I personally couldn't care less if it's Christian or not Christian to own a gun. It's a constitutional right, and I stand behind it. I have TON more respect for THAT document, than the Bible.
Personally, I do not subscribe to any organized religion, and see the Bible as nothing more than a book.
I looked around and found a few cases that seem to contradict your "Totally" comment. But again, one of the main faults of the "Bible" is that anyone can search for any quote that seems to support whatever thing they want to proclaim as the word of "God".
How about Luke 23:36?
And he [Jesus] said to them [His disciples], ‘But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one. For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me, ‘And he was numbered with transgressors’; for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment.’ They said, ‘Lord, look, here are two swords.’ And He said to them, ‘It is enough.
That doesn't sound "Totally" to me.
I also read something about him creating a whip and whipping people. Of course you'll have to pardon my lack of the exact quote. Sure, it may have been "figurative", but it cracks me up that people pick and choose what parts are "figurative" and which parts are "literal"
Субъект: Re:Would be comfortable living next door to a man who has a dozen shotguns in his basement?
Iamon lyme: It would be interesting to see how many of the crazies who have shot people up, are libs. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a high percentage. Perhaps they know in the back of their minds that THEY are the likely ones we should be worrying about having guns.
Субъект: Re: And if someone doesn't like Chris Rock, they MUST be racist! Isn't that how libs work?
(V): I guess you pay attention to what you want to, and ignore other things? That's all I can figure. All the silly libs throw out "racist" to anyone who disagrees with the worthless president of ours.
Субъект: Re: OK, now let's see if V stays on point here...
Artful Dodger: I would say I agree with all of that. EXCEPT, I think there are many times when people could turn to their own families for help. Seems to me thats how it used to be, from what I've heard. Or local communities helping their own too.
Of course I'm mostly Libertarian and feel the federal govt should only be involved where absolutely necessary. And to me, that's limited to Defense, border control, and probably a couple other things I can't think of right now, because TV is distracting me.
Artful Dodger: What a lying scum bag that guy is. I can't stand him. And so many silly libs follow what idiots like him say and assume it's the truth. Sheep.
Artful Dodger: The people who passed this horrible compromise need to be blamed as well. It was said ahead of time, that if a balanced budget amendment were to be passed, our credit rating would most likely not be downgraded.
This compromise was a JOKE. Typical Washington DC JUNK.
The people who got elected this past time better learn to stick to their guns, or they will be voted out as well.
Субъект: Re:without taking into consideration that your golden boy was just as guilty.
Tuesday: "her" is not an insult. Unless you are just LOOKING for things to insult you. Typical of "politcally correct" libs who are offended over everything that can possibly be misconstrued as offensive.
And MY point was, you would NEVER have pointed that out about Obama 3 years ago. When "your" people do something, it's hunky dorry. When "the other ones" do the same thing, it's gotta be put out there as NOT ok.
When in reality, (as I've already said twice, I believe) I would imagine any person who currently holds office (of WHATEVER party), who is campaigning, probably misses more votes than they should. And as I also said, I don't defend that. They are ALL doing their constituents a disservice when this happens.
And the point is, really, that anyone who is in elected office who is running for presidency (regardless of party) is probably going to be slacking at their elected job. (Which, personally, I don't defend)
And of course, that wasn't going to be brought up by her, that the golden boy was just as bad.
Tuesday: You were trying to make one of your points, without taking into consideration that your golden boy was just as guilty. And of course you wouldn't have brought THAT up.
