Субъект: More race manipulation by the White House
Ed Lasky
America - at least Americans who keep up on current events (and not the "sanitized" and "censored" versions delivered up by the usual suspects) - know that Eric Holder's Department of Justice has adopted race-based policies as its guiding principle. But there are signs that it did not all start with Holder. From the National Review The village of Port Chester, N.Y., is governed by a six-member board of trustees. Elections for the board were conducted on an at-large system - every voter looking at the same list of candidates - until 2006, when the Justice Department sued Port Chester under the 1965 Voting Rights Act. But not enough Hispanics were being elected by the citizenry of Port Chester, so the diversity police at the DOJ went into action. In their view , the wrong people were being elected - despite the fact that no citizen had been barred from voting nor had unjust qualifications imposed on them. But Port Chester is 50% Hispanic so the absence of Hispanic representation on the board of trustees angered lawyers at the DOJ. Defense and resistance was "futile". Town officials pointed out, with supporting data, that some large portion of their Hispanic population was ineligible to vote, not being citizens, and that voter turnout among the rest was low. Resistance was of course futile. A new, more complex voting system was imposed, along with the notoriously leaky "early voting" rule, and a Hispanic trustee has now been elected. Engineering the outcome of elections-as was done recently by Holder's DOJ in Kinston, North Carolina and is being done increasingly throughout the country under the iron fist of the DOJ did not start with Eric Holder. Clearly, there are some attorneys at the Department who have favored this type of control before the reins were turned over to Eric Holder. He, and his boss, Barack Obama, have just stepped up the pace-exponentially.
Субъект: Well, at least we've got some transparency now.
July 18, 2010 White House: We lied when we denied the insurance mandate was a tax Rick Moran Faced with the probability that the Supreme Court would deep six Obamacare due to the unconstitutionality of the individual mandate for all Americans to buy insurance, the Obama administration has switched gears and is now saying that their critics were right; that the mandate is, in fact, a tax:
When Congress required most Americans to obtain health insurance or pay a penalty, Democrats denied that they were creating a new tax. But in court, the Obama administration and its allies now defend the requirement as an exercise of the government's "power to lay and collect taxes."
Субъект: Currently in the news written by a black man who DOES attend the Tea Party Events. (and is a regular speaker there)
July 18, 2010 Tea Partiers Easily Put On The Defensive. Stop it! Lloyd Marcus It is truly unfortunate that some on our side are so easily put on the defensive. NAACP President Ben Jealous slandered millions of decent Tea Party patriots by saying we tolerate racists' signs. We do not. Not one liberal mainstream media outlet demand that Jealous produce the "Lynch Barack Obama" and "Lynch Eric Holder" signs he claimed to have seen. Thus, the liberal media are saying these violent racist signs exist and the tea partiers are guilty simply because Jealous says so.
Furthering their efforts to discredit the tea party movement by portraying them as racist, the liberal media attacked our Mark Williams for a satirical comment on his blog. Mark is a personal friend who is not a racist; far from it. On his blog, Mark was making a point about the blatant hypocrisy and backwardness of the NAACP.
Meanwhile, the liberal media typically ignores "real racism" coming from the left. A member of the New Black Panther Party boldly proclaimed he hates crackers (white people) and they need to "kill more crackers". Has the liberal media confronted the NAACP about denouncing the New Black Panthers' hate-filled racist statement? No, they have not.
And yet, folks on our side ran to the microphones to denounce Mark Williams and Tea Party Express, which is the most effective, ethical and powerful conservative voice of We The People. Dear Lord! People, wake up and smell the liberal media manipulation!
News Flash! The liberal mainstream media vehemently desire to "crush" the Tea Party Movement. They want us to fail! It is foolish to pander to our enemy. The liberal media will distort, lie and do whatever to divide and conquer us. Brothers and sisters, we can not fall for it. God bless.
Jim Dandy: Don't have to do that. It's my opinion. Maybe his letter is reflective of a man who really has racist beliefs. I don't know. But reading that letter, I don't see racism. I see something else.
DoE Suspends Funds to CRU Crew Clarice Feldman While the press had largely satisfied itself that the internal whitewash of the Hadley CRU climategate email scandal settles the matter, the U.S. Department of Energy seems to be saying, "Not so fast."
The American government has suspended its funding of the University of East Anglia's climate research unit (CRU), citing the scientific doubts raised by last November's leak of hundreds of stolen emails.
The US Department of Energy (DoE) was one of the unit's main sources of funding for its work assembling a database of global temperatures.
It has supported the CRU financially since 1990 and gives the unit about £131,000 ($200,000 USD) a year on a rolling three-year contract.
This should have been renewed automatically in April, but the department has suspended all payments since May pending a scientific peer review of the unit's work.
Tuesday: I'm speaking more of the leadership of the Democratic party (historically) but today, the far left uses race all the time. They look for opportunities (or as I have shown, they manufacture them) to accuse the opposition of racism. That's why the topic is important. One, to understand the roots of racism in the political parties; to be honest about it; and to call it what it is when confronted with it today.
Williams letter was NOT racist. Poor judgment, insulting, offensive. But let's NOT cheapen the meaning of racism by assigning every little thing we object to as racist. That kind of behavior IS racist. When one uses race as a club (as the far left does) they are acting racist. When someone quotes LBJ for using the "N" word, they are NOT racist (as I have been called by you and a few others here). You yourself are guilty seizing an opportunity to play the race card. It's nonsense. Racism is a particular thing and not just anything you think it is. It's not racist to say Obama is articulate. Some on the left have made this claim. It's not racist to oppose Obama. MANY on the left make this claim.
The NAACP is playing the race card. They are a racist organization. Why? Imagine a white organization that seeks only to promote the white race. That's racism.
A national leader of the conservative Tea Party movement has been strongly criticized by Islamic civil rights leaders for referring to the proposed site of a New York City mosque as a place for Muslims to worship "the terrorists' monkey-god."
Tea Party Express organizer Mark Williams blogged on his Web site last week that the mosque - to be constructed near the former site of the World Trade Center - would be a "monument ... for the worship of the terrorists' monkey-god and a 'cultural center' to propagandize for the extermination of all things not approved by their cult."
Williams, who also referred to "animals of Allah," was rebuked Thursday by the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The group issued a release Wednesday calling on other Tea Party activists to repudiate Williams' remarks.
"It would be shocking if such ignorant comments failed to elicit a strong response not only from Tea Party leaders, but from other parties throughout the political spectrum," CAIR National Legislative Director Corey Saylor said.
For his part, Williams was unapologetic toward Muslims.
"In the course of the article I described the 'god' worshiped by terrorists as 'a monkey god,'" he wrote on his Web site. "I was wrong and that was offensive. I owe an apology to millions of Hindus who worship Lord Hanuman, an actual Monkey God."
Hanuman is known to followers of the Hindu faith as a symbol of strength and devotion, among other things.
Hanuman "is known as a destroyer of evil and to inspire and liberate," Williams said. "Those are hardly the traits of whatever ... it is that terrorists worship and worthy of my respect and admiration not ridicule."
Субъект: Re: This reminds me of The Canadian reform party, when they cleaned up their image
Jim Dandy: Williams was likely necessary collateral. Just as well. In this racially sensitive time, one has to be very careful what one says. I remember when someone said of Obama that he was articulate and the blacks got their undies in a tizzy crying "What? A black man can't be articulate?" It didn't matter that such things have been said of others.
Субъект: Re:racist? I don't think he said it with malice, but it was a different time
I am Weasel: ok to be racist? I think that depends on ones opinion, I personally don't find it ok.Certain words did take awhile to be deemed politically incorrect though.
Tuesday: The reason it's been pounded to pieces is because you on the left refuse to accept that your party was born out of racism. It promoted, supported, and profited from racism. And they are still using race today to further their ideology. Whatever it takes, the left will do.
It's also CURRENT in the news. Don't like the topic? Don't read it or respond.
Jim Dandy: I wouldn't go as far as to say there aren't racists in the whole bunch. But what there isn't is a pattern of racism in the group. There are no signs people carry that promote racist ideas. And where there are problems, they are weeded out. And keep in mind that the left was so eager to find racism in their ranks of the tea party, but couldn't, that they manufactured it. It's documented. On video. The left, posing as tea party participants and the LEFT making racial slurs. It didn't work. But it does go to show just how dishonest the left has become.
Субъект: This reminds me of The Canadian reform party, when they cleaned up their image
"We, in the last 24 hours, have expelled Tea Party Express and Mark Williams from the National Tea Party Federation because of the letter that he wrote," federation spokesman David Webb said Sunday on CBS's "Face The Nation."
Ferris Bueller: Not everyone was behind votes for women.. but they still got the right. Not everyone was behind the working class having a vote.. but the law changed.
