Perhaps it is because I am drinking wine right now, but this is the second and last time that I will announce the most popular holiday on February 14th. Trifon Zarezan!

This tournament is for UNRATED players, and players rated BELOW 1500

This is a GREAT way for people to try new games, and play games they normally can not without being "killed" by expert players.

I think KotDB may be right about the attempt to inflate their own ratings. I personally can't see the point in showing a false view to the world as I believe that in the end the truth always comes out.

Thanks for the heads up Snoopy. I will just try to be patient but if they are like you said and they stick their head in here for a browse I guess I am in for it. LOL. I'm tough though and I don't have to read everything they write. Just make my moves and move on. Hehehe.

TarantinoFan: dont resign thats what he wants you to do as he knows ppl get really fed up of waiting on him
in 16 days time he will either have to move alot of times in a day or he will start timing out on many games

srnity: Thanks for the offer but without resigning I am stuck like emmett said and I choose not to resign. I will just have to wait the 12 days or is that 12 lots of 3 days????? Arrggghhhh.

On a happier note I would like to thank Big Bad Wolf for the small (5 person) tourneys. I think it is a great idea so THANKYOU :)

srnity: Your suggestion of resigning is probably the reason why some players abuse the vacation system: perhaps they hope to artificially inflate their win totals by goading their opponents into resigning out of frustration.

TarantinoFan: While I share your frustration with such unscrupulous behavior (autovacation is probably the most ill-conceived feature on this site), I think the best you can do is to grin and bear it. His vacation days will run out in a couple of weeks. After that, either he'll play and you'll have the game you signed up for, or he won't and you'll have a much-deserved victory.

"Snoopy": Ahhhhhhhh, I know who it is without even going to look.....you could read "War & Peace" a few times over while waiting for that one to take a turn - she has my sympathy

srnity: she is talking about the one person who if you say anything to him he will delay even more and gave her a hard time in the game to

emmett: I think pawns can "see" smilies, but not send them(?) She can always resign (I've done it) and ask Fencer to set her free

TarantinoFan: I see nothing wrong with voicing your discontent Free speech, yadayada I was blessed by someone recently (still haven't figured out who to say "Thank You" too tho) giving me a membership & I'd be MORE than happy to set up a Tournament just for you - let me know what you want & it's good as done - I've been in your predicament and I know how frustrating watching vacation days day by day can be NO PROBLEM really, just tell me what you want me to set up and it's done

TarantinoFan: I have experienced what you were talking about. There are many players who use time and their days off purposely to aggravate everyone else. It is a strange tactic. I bought into this site to avoid that, but I still get players who (really) will use every vacation day they have rather than resign to a game that I have am one move away from winning. (In fact it is happening right now)
Anyway, Harassed is right to suggest that you choose games with the green dot or the red dot indicating no days off. I learned the hard way, like you. Once, though, I asked an opponent why they would not move, and let them know why I was frustrated, and they suddenly made moves every day and we finished our game in little time. It surprised me, but apparently direct communication can work.

TarantinoFan: Complaining is wrong, this is just how the system works. You might join or ask someone to create either a tournament without vacation days - green dot or fischer clock one - red dot.

TarantinoFan: I forgot to mention that it also ticks me off that Auto vacation means they can time out of LOTS of games each day and only lose 1 day of vacation. If they lost a vacation day for every game they might think twice about their inconsiderate play!!!
