Pedro Martínez: yep, it was an horrible game. It´s a shame, we´ve some talented players, Figo is in a very good shape agian at 34, but we don´t have a coach...
Czuch Chuckers: You bet! Less than three hours left till the kickoff...I can't wait. Baroš is out of play, I'm afraid but still it would be a big surprise if we didn't win...:)
Andre Faria: I was wondering what happened to you.... thought maybe you would diappear and not pay up! Monday will be a big day for the US, when is your first gamez?
That's a good thing against the first place team. The American League Western Division is real weak right now. The Angels will be home tomorrow to play the Orioles and Twins for two three game series. It looks like the Blue Jays are in third place behind the Red Sox and Yankees. Detroit is blazin'.
Jim Dandy: Painful, yeah that describes it. The Blue Jays have been having their way with the Angels. That inning you speak is one that makes me wonder just how bad are things going to get? At least they won yesterday. After seven losses in a row it's nice to win one game.
Walter Montego: What a wild finale to that series.Chone Figgins not score from 3rd with nobody out? The whole game was almost painful to watch,I think Vlad needs a day off
Cracking FA Cup Final in England. Congrats to Gerrard and his team. Is there anyone else in the world who can captain a team in that way? Man of the match by a mile!
Commiserations to West Ham fans though - it takes two teams to make a historic match.
Субъект: Re: The Sabre's and baseball, in a new light
Jim Dandy: What do you mean by fallback position? What did he get if he didn't have to do the deed? Nothing. He said it, and was fully prepared to do it. He had a "crappy" pair of pants while watching the Sabres game. He giggled with glee when they won. I watched the game in my room, and heard him from down the hall... it was quite hilarious actually!
I'm so sad... the Sabres lost. No, I am not a fan of the Sabres, but a friend of mine said he would "deficate"* his pants if they swept the series... what a ridiculous statement... he almost paid for it!
On that note, we also have 30 guys that have each picked a different baseball team, and if there team wins the Series... well, you guessed it. Is that weird!? I think it is! I got the Mariners. LOL Yes, every single team has a guy... so someone is going to...
This all started back when one guy said something to the effect of "If Pujols jacks this one out (during the Astro's series), I'll 'do it'". Guess what happened... LOL Pujols homered... guess what he did... LOL So it is an ongoing joke.
Walter Montego:If our pitching was even average we'd be running away with our division right now.Other than Halliday and Chacin it has been very shakey, our closer has been untouchable though.
Jim Dandy: Yeah, they screwed up letting Benji go. I don't know what they were thinking. They gave up on Glaus and traded him a couple years back, and this was after he won the MVP for them in the World Series. His replacement at Third Base is either hurt or in the minor leagues. Of course will fill in ther with Figgins, but Glaus hits a lot of homeruns and is a good Third Baseman. Benji, for as slow as he runs, is a great hitter. Especially when men are on base. Great Catcher too. I'm sure you enjoy having him on your team.
I bet they were extra motivated when playing the Angels! They probably pumped up the rest of the team talking about them too. Troy Glaus has the ring and trophy, so those guys will listen to him and want it too. Benji knows the Angels Pitchers better than anyone else at the moment, I'm sure that helps when playing against the Angels. And his brother is the Angel's Catcher! Yep, I'd expect the Blue Jays to play the Angels tough for a few seasons. They're in what's arguably the toughest division. If they think they have a chance, they're going to play almost every game as a must win.
Walter Montego:Beware the "I'm going to show my old team" syndrome.Bengie Molina and Glaus will be extra pumped, not to mention the rookie Jannsen who pitched a gem against you in Toronto. He was a big Angels fan growing up
Walter Montego: Towers might not even be in the rotation by then,an interesting stat regarding his season though,if you eliminate 5 innings from his season his era is about 2.13.I am aware this could be the case with a few other hard luck pitchers though.
Jim Dandy: That series went well for the Blue Jays. Made the Angels look like easy pickings. Toronto will be in town next week. Perhaps we can return the favor?
