Chinese Chess - Very bizarre, can't quite wrap my head around it, not really a fan.
Shogi - Terrific game, has a lot more depth to it than at first glance.Would like to get better and learn some openings.
Corner Chess - Too much like chess to be interesting.
Fortress Chess - Also too chessy. Although the extra pawns spice it up a little bit.
Horde Chess - Bad game. Easy forced win for white.
Loop Chess - Used to play this a lot back in the day, although when promoted pieces got captured they reverted back to pawns, which I prefer. In this it makes it a lot harder to commit to pawn probing attacks.
Anti Chess - Fun. although feels kinda weird to play it in a super slow setting.
Extinction Chess - Like chess, but the rules set makes for some oddly frustrating and interesting play at the same time.
Maharajah Chess - Bad. Easy forced win for black.
Three Checks Chess - Fun, although having white is a massive advantage. I guess it can be offset by match play, but not too many people are into that.
Dark Chess - Fun, although it takes way too much effort too make logical decisions. Having to keep looking over the moves and piece them together. So now I just play random decent looking moves heh. Also has a cool psychological factor too it.
Atomic Chess- Don't like it, I feel like it should be a forced win for white. Most of what matters in it is memorizing openings.
Janus Chess - An enjoyable pure chess variant.
Embassy Chess- An enjoyable pure chess variant. Screen Chess and Crazy Screen Chess - Too much like chess, and too much luck factor not knowing your opponents setup.
Cylinder Chess - Too weird for me to even attempt.
Amazon Chess - Too much like chess, Many positions seem to boil down to Amazon trades.
Berolina Chess - A little too weird for me, although I've played a few.
Fischer Random Chess - Too much like chess.
Legan Chess - A little too weird for me also.
Knight Relay Chess - Really odd ruleset. Probably the most frustrating out of all of them, but for some reason it's fun to play.
Grand Chess - The ultimate pure chess expansion. Very cool.
Capablanca Random Chess - Not much point, Embassy chess is already good enough.
Los Alamos Chess - I like the claustrophobic feeling you get with it. My gut tells me this is a forced win for white, but don't ask me to prove it lol.
Ambiguous Chess - Never going to think about double coverage on 1 square the same way again lol.
Mini Shogi - Fun little shogi diversion. Although I think this may be a forced draw.
Dice Chess - They don't mix.
Recycle Chess - A weird offshoot of loop chess that makes little sense.
Ice Age Chess - Interesting for sure. Games take a long time.
Behemoth Chess - Downright idiotic lol.
Chesire Cat Chess - Very Weird. Feels like I'm in zugzwang from move 1.
Knightmare Chess - Fun, especially the dynamic of using your king as a weapon early.
Racing Kings - Probably a forced win for white, and not so much a difficult one at that.
Massacre Chess - Huge advantage to white. Fun though, takes a lot of calculation.
Go - Incredible game, one of the most if not the most complex in terms of strategic and tactical thinking.
Go 13x13 - Prefer bigger board, for bigger strategy.
Go 9x9 - Same as above, and the komi isn't big enough, black has an advantage.
Tablut - Good stuff. I feel like it should be a forced win for white, but proving it is an entirely different matter. Best done with match play.
Tank Battle - I feel like I haven't really had a solid game with anybody yet. So far it's been fun.
Amazons - Arrow shooting queens, what's not to love? Kind of reminds me of some old puzzle games.
Break Through - Fun, theoretically a forced win for white, although plenty of room for black for win.
Those are pretty much the only ones that interest me as of now. Might pick up a couple more later.
