crosseyed: I'm still trying to get a feel for the Fischer Clock timed games. You have to check out the timing and bonus amounts. There are so many different ways to time a game. If the bonus is short and you and your opponent don't move fast, you can easily time out. IF the bonus is very long, then it really doesn't matter much. Same thing if the maximum is more than a couple of weeks. When the bonus is between a day or two and the maximum under 15 days, you can have the game move fairly fast and still not be pressured into moving daily. A bonus of 1 day 6 hours works good for me and will still allow slower moving players to enjoy a game without it affecting those players that like to move faster.
Walter Montego: AS you and a few others have pointed out, there ARE alternatives to prevent being captured by a slow player or two. In the 3 plus years that I've been here...this is a constant complaint by a few members. It really gets old to continually hear about this...when so many measures have been taken to help the ones who feel their human rights have been violated because someone has the nerve to use their full time limit. New rope comes to mind.

The purpose of the time limit is to allow players to actually have the choice of using that limit. If I choose to move in a game that I have 10 days left to move before I move in a game that I have 3 days to move that is my choice.
For instance, some games take longer to decide where to move. Whereas Ludo or some other games don't require too much thought and I can move pretty quickly.
Time wins are wins. If you don't like losing on time then play with longer time controls. You can't blame the other person for not moving faster if he has plenty of time on his clock.
If you do like slow games you can check out Slow Time Controls fellowship and play as many slow games as you want.

Bwild: Yes you may have 'heard' it all before. I do not feel my human rights have been violated that is carrying it a bit too far. But it is so stupid that someone has 500 games on the go and cannot find time to make moves. I really think people should be named and shamed. Then when they next take on a Tournament game hopefully the creators will not select them.

RagingSeas: See my previous message. And then there is the one where the person is deliberately delaying things in a Tournament game. I have just found another player has 1,073 games on the go. That is so ridiculous. These people should be limited on Tournament games.
crosseyed: You are allowed your opinion, as others are allowed theirs.
It is permitted to take as long to move a game as the time limit allows.
What is not permitted on this site is "shaming and naming" players on public boards just because you think they "are stupid or rediculous" or taking too long to play.
There are members who don't like waiting for others to move, altho it is their priviledge to take as long as the time limit allows, and also to play as many games as they choose.
I suggest you join some of the fast players fellowships and play fast games and tournament only if slow players bother you that much. I also suggest you please read the user agreement on what is allowed to be posted on public boards.

baddessi: It is up to the moderator to decide if what I posted is not acceptable. So if you don't like what I put you can delete it since you are one of the moderators. And I will only play fast tournament games from now on. Plus I will continue voice my opinion about slow players if I wish.
If anyone is still looking to join a Ludo team for the Team Tournament, The Official Lines Fellowship is still looking for 2 more players to join the team so we can compete against the other fellowships!
crosseyed: actually, it is up to the site what is allowed and not allowed. Flaming and baiting of other members and 'naming and shaming' as you put it is against the Brainking User agreement for all public boards. You have the right to post your opinions and complain about slow players, just not the right to complain about specific members. Just wanted to clarify that for you.

Rose: I am airing my views which I am entitled to. I have NOT spoken out of turn. It is clear to me that people are control freaks on this site. Are you a moderator of this board? Anyone wishing to speak their mind (no dirty talk though) without being penalised or having your posts deleted are welcome to air them on my fellowship board: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
crosseyed: Public boards are not for speaking negatively about people, which you did more than once. Please feel free to say anything you want in your own FS. When you start talking negatively, calling people control freaks then you are asked to take it else where and your post will be deleted. Stick to the topic of have your post removed. I have explained that well enough I think so that any more will result in removal or having your post hidden or banned. Yes to your question. I can moderate all boards.

Rose: I think slow players deserved to spoken about negatively. And players who takes on far too many games. I think you and few others take things too seriously and need to lighten up a bit. No names were mentioned and deleting my posts because you don't like what I think is rather harsh. Next you will be coming to my fellowship and deleting posts.
Allison: If You want just simple link, go to tournament list, brows for Your one, then click right mouse button on it and select 'copy link' or something like that from context menu and paste it here.
crosseyed: I thikn tourneys cover them and mostly thats bad, I joined standard strairs and as pawn i can say that playin with xxx (look at game in my profile) is pain. He do not answer when I ask him (on priv or in game) to play faster, he completly ignore any messages (hi hello gl gg hf thanks) and he do not give up when it's clear that he lost (btw. hes not that strong as his ranking shows in connect 6). I think discussion abou is needed, maybe even here but my request was directed to someone else, who (imo) could msg You about deleting Your posts on priv, if She really wanted 'proper' messages on forum.

Rose: Don,t you think talking about it openly is better than talking behind their backs? I hate tournaments that go on for months and months. I always timed out because the tournies were still going on a year later when I was on holiday. I don,t bother wth using vacation time if I time out its not the end of the world. But slow tournies sure are a pain especially for a knight who is only alowed one anyway and can,t join another even if they have lost anyway untill they ask the Boss to remove them. I will shut up now I have had my say.
