she has her in the houes..the one she has looks like a flower but it is hard...will it flower?does not need a lot of water has to be out of the sun..thanks ajtgirl
Actually epiphytes such as tillandsias do need water...what they don't need is soil. They bebefit from misting them every day and keeping them in a shady spot. We have ours hanging on pieces of bark on the walls of our retail shop. Like orchids, they may flower only once a year, depending upon where you live. I have a feeling they are going to become more popular, retail wise.

Foxy Lady: Do you have lots of rabbits in your area that could get into your strawberry patch? If so, what do you plan on doing about it? We had a problem with that a couple of years ago...
rednaz23: We have a rabbit family and a chipmonk that lives in our yard all year.We share the garden with them. It's no big deal since our garden is good size.So is my neighbors.
Foxy Lady: as i wrote that i was thinking about a wooded area not far from here where i used to explore when my Mom first moved the family to NY. those woods seemed so big to me then, but they'd only seem a little patch now...and i don't know how i'd even get to them without crossing someone's property.
i'm not sure where i'd find a wooded area on long island that hadn't already been all picked of berries... :/
plaintiger: Try a nursery for thornless blackberry, I've got one growing and the person I got it off just has his growing in a cylindrical 6"wire mesh. It's about 6 feet tall and apart from the birds he does all right. My one grows alond a boundary fench
plaintiger:
You are a master of photography, no doubt about it
I actually have one of that variety tillapsia
It has stopped blooming so it looks now like a beached sea urchin...but I know it will flower again.
