jessica: I use AVG, what exactly is the problem

xmas is soon: the problem is that when i updated it it still said that the antivirus protection was outdated and needed to be reconfigured. i might use MadMonkey's idea and uninstall it then reinstall it and if that doesn't work i will uninstall it and just go with another anti- virus software.

jessica: ah right, that happened to me recently , i rebooted and it was all ok.

jessica: I used AVG until i rebuilt my system and had no problems either. Have you tried uninstalling it & reinstalling ?
If not there are quite a few good ones about, try Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic

MadMonkey: MadMonkey, or anyone, do you think Avira is better than Norton/Symantec?

Binabik: As i am from Canada.I had Norton only suppled throw my internet connection & Yahoo.It worked very good for along time.Just recently i got infected.As alway's when this happens i install new window's again.I tryed reinstalling NORTON but could not.There for Yahoo & Norton are not available to me.Now GOOGLE & Norton have teamed up with AVG Firefox & other's in a complete package.It is all FREE & work's great.That is until it get's hacked to.Hope this info is a help to anyone that need's it:)))

last week when i started up my computer AVG told me there would be no updates anymore in 2007 ?

Hrqls: I didnt get that it told me my AVG was running out in January 2007 and i had to buy it again

i only got the message once though .. my gf was at the computer at that time so i didnt pay much attention and expected to receive it again next time i would start my computer ..

Hrqls: Yes i only got it once too, obviously it was jsut a reminder, i wont buy though i will just use their free edition, it still does the job .

AVG Free 7.1 version will be discontinued on 15th of Jan 2007.

xmas is soon: i am wondering though if 7.5 will be free as well .. and what will happen with the updates to free 7.1 .. and what will happen to the updates to the virus database for the free 7.1 :)

Hrqls: i had to uninstall the other AVG software that i had and then go to the AVG site and then download the 7.5 version. and it is free to all if you are using your pc at home.
