From being illegal and a punishable by upto 14 years, to being illegal and punishable by life imprisonment.... the death penalty clause dropped .. just. Some in the Ugandan parliament are still seeking the death penalty. Three US evangelical groups have been named as spreading anti homosexual views based on the Bible that have led to this stage. And are still working to spread homophobia as harshly as possible. The bill is still to be passed, and it's looks like the President of Uganda is the only one to stop it passing. |
