To the lost and beloved Famomous music,me and my Family prays and hugs for the true master of music.
On my thoughts,he will never be forgoten,he wrote many pages of music in my fellowship,as he said it was free to all to copy.
He was a very smart man..............
He loved his music,as we'll as we had many conversations regarding it.
He will be very missed,as we'll as a very polite and extremly very intellegent soul spirited person.
It hurts me very deeply to be not able to talk to him, seeing how we for years we had a great passion for music, and i know he loved it,i don't know if quoted would be a good word now,but he will and always be known as a great person in my eyes, and that comes from the Universe of me and my family and friends.
They will be with you my friend.
This was his favorite icon
I hope for a minute of silence on behalf a very good friend.
I'm very sorry alexlee you are and sympathy goes deep for you.
baddessi: I can understand how they would downplay the impact for public consumption,it's not a good career move to acknowledge a backlash making an imacpt, never let em see ya sweatI suppose I should have just stated that they pissed off alot of Republicans who also happen to be country music fans.Radio stations are getting death threats if they play the record.Their managment was wise to go in a pop direction with the look and sound of the new cd.
Skyking: yep - all those and the ones Groucho mentioned as well. I saw Neil Diamond about 10 years ago. Boss had tickets and made me take her. He had an electic shirt! It sparkled all night!
Tuesday: hey- is that song that Eriisa mentioned "Lullabye" on there? I don't know that song. I'm waiting for the collector's addition of the CD 'Home" to arrive in the mail. I ordered it from Amazon along with some old Emmylou "Blue Kentucky Girl" and the new one from Michelle Branch & Jessica Harp. If you don't know about them, I think you'll like them. Good rocking country stuff, I'm thinking. They recorded under the name "The Wreckers"...I'm waiting for that to be released so it can ship..sometime this week, I think. As for that tape, you really don't want to hear my singing...but I'd love to hear yours. I was messing with my guitar last night wondering what I'd play if I actually did it. I worked on one from your girl from Missouri there, Sheryl, and got to playing "Strong Enough" It's one of my theme songs, and I think of you when I play it too : ) Thought you might like that one...some cool picking there : )
Tuesday: I think you got it right. The thing is, if you're a country music star, you gotta remember that your fans are very loyal both as Republicians and Democrats. But I saw the DChicks recently on O'Reiley and they offered no regrets. One thing is for sure, they are talented from head to toe!
Groucho: I gotta give him credit for that. It's a tough thing to do. Many musicians have fought their way back from addiction. Others haven't been so successful. We've lost alot of good ones. ....Muddy Waters turned to wine..
Skyking: I know he had a problem with the bottle. I think he's cleaned up his act. I recently saw him on a TV special and he played a lead on his electric. Wow...that guy and play. It was fast and flawless.
TexasToest: thank you- I knew I didn't spell it right. Well, you know, I wanna come there, but kids, hubby and money aren't as eager as I am. You know, the Hard Rock Cafe downtown has a whole room (shrine) dedicated to Stevie. It's just off 45 on the way to Galveston (hint, hint)
baddessi: No need, we know. It was Townes Van Zandt, and he was a really close friend of mine. His death took me down! Well, of course, Stevie Ray Vaughan is buried here. I think we've discussed having a ceremonial trip to his grave before. But, b'dessi, to do that, you have to come HERE!
TexasToest: sweet of you to say, but I'm prety sure I was born before Nancy. But I know when I was young, I watched her cut her teeth on that Red Brick Floor (Anderson's Fair??) downtown Houston. She had some good company as well. Lyle Lovett, who practically grew up in my back yard, tho he doesn't know me...Townes Van Sant(is that right?), Shake Russell..and let's not forget ZZ Top . not to mention Steven Stills, who I believe was from up your way as well, and my two favorite Texans of all time..Steve Miller and the one and only legendary Stevie Ray Vaughn Yeah, I guess Texas has made a pretty good contribution to music...oh yeah, Buddy Holly...shall I go on??? LOL
baddessi: I know, I know. I think I've been a fan of Nanci Griffith's since before you were born. And, yes, I knew about those two, and Stephen Fromholz, Michael Murphy, Mario Daboub (of The Nightcaps - wrote Wine, Wine, Wine), B.W. Stevenson, and on and on ad nausium. I knew them all (but not Henley or Jones - too young), we jammed every Sunday night at the Hob Nob in Denton.
