Teema: Re: sometimes the theatre of the mind works best
Jim Dandy: I have to agree with you there. I remember uncounted hours lying on the floor, my head between the speakers, eyes closed, and listening to the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album over and over and over, getting deeper and deeper meanings with every hearing. It might be why radio, in my opinion, is the best venue for music. You are there with yourself, no one, nothing to distract you. One thing I like about long road trips is the music. I take tons and tons of CDs on the road with me. decloedt does the same thing. We had 10 days worth of music last year while we were on the road.

Jim Dandy: I had to look it up, because evidently they missed Texas. Or, could it be that my ex and I were still newly weds, and we were definitely hippy types. If it wasn't "heavy" we looked right over it. So, I'm leaving the answer to others. 1910 Fruitgum Company? You knew about them? Or you tripped over them. Hahaha! That was priceless. They seem like they might be from the earlyr 60s. Hmmm?
UzzyLady: I was familiar with the song, as you might well imagine, it's on all the "Texas" stations. I think they ought to make it the Texas National Anthem. The slide show showed an awful lot about Texas, but you can't cover all of it in 3 minutes. I mean, they missed Brenham. Oh, and Galveston. But, the diversity comes through. And, look who got in the big fat middle...Townes Van Zandt. Hahaha! I had to smile all the way through that piece, because I've been to all of those places, and I have fond memories of all of them. Thanks for the memories.
