There are three ways to circumvent this method.

1. Discover it for yourself prior to the start of the pond, and move before the other person who knows the strategy.

2. Enter "kamikaze" pawn ids and have them screw everything up.

3. Somehow get access to everyone else's numbers, through messaging one another or bribing Liquid

So yes, there is still a way to lose, so I guess it is pointless to argue.
