On the first day of this action I went to every single DB, since then I just counted about 90 boards that have not been posted to since that time. Like PB said, there are only so many boards with any action on them.... so even if you have 20 boards with action every hour and you check them every hour for 24 hours straight, that is still only 960 points!

Fencer: How can that be correct? The vast majority of the boards haven't been posted to and you can only get 2 points per board per hour. GC, BK, Birthdays, Music, Jokes, and a small handful of others have been posted to. I'd guess 15, maybe 20 boards at a maximum, but some of these have only been posted to one or twice all day, though others like GC and BK usually get something per hour. In 9 hours there's no way that these few boards can provide 1200 points.

WellyWales: This is what it say:-

To anyone who may be wondering:

* Yes, there is a bug which affects the July Action (or there was when I wrote this).

* Yes, most of my board points are the result of this bug.

* No, I am not attempting to cheat. Even if the bug remains unfixed and I finish among the top ten, I will not accept a prize as long as I have any such unearned points.

KotDB: The database says you have visited 121 boards. That makes, multiplied by 2, 242 points. Not a bug.

Ok, I just ran the test, I left multiple boards open for over an hour and I did not receive extra points, so this modified system is definately better.

I have given up on it already.... it wont be long and someone will open up many new accounts with them getting the credit etc... also, I would have to move more than my maximum moves per day so far for every single day and I still wouldnt get the amount of mover required, and what am I going to do with 200 brains anyway

pawnme: I agree completely. I suggested the point for a win to Fencer and haven't heard back yet. I might like to see a cap on points for discussion boards at 60 for viewing and maybe create something for posting.

Subject: Re:
King Reza: I agree with that. I would like to see something like: points for moving (as is now) but points for every win and points for a draw and even a point for a completed game (but this may also leave the door open to someone resigning games continuously to acchieve points). As for discussion boards, I understand the motivation to get everyone involved with Brainking, but I don't know if there is a "fair" way to moderate this.

doesnt realy matter how fast u r couse any one can go through all the boards in less then an hour so u dont need a window open for them all

2. July 2006, 00:08:00

but, does it still go by reading "new messages" or just spending time (one houre) looking at each board? Like I said, it wouldn't be difficult to open up every discussion board in different windows and walk away from my computer for an hour or two.

nope, you get 2 points for one visit to each board an hour. If you go there 200 times, you still only get 2 points.

Not that I want to throw another wrench in the system, but what happens if I open up 20 different windows on different boards? Does this mean I accumulate points 20 times faster then everybody else?

I'm a bit dense sometimes..sorry,lol...for the boards..we get points everytime we click on to read or just once a day or what? I play games, them come check the boards (some move very fast and if I don't do that I have to read through well over 100 comments to get caught back up)
