i hope you're going to keep the time suspended, it just took forever for me to submit a msg., and i don't even know if it went thru. i left it to see if i could get here, i hope this submits. i would really hate to lose all my games, that would be very discouraging. i'm going to try to play some games, i couldn't before.
I only made it back on here this time after deleting the cookies, and then turning the power off and back on.
For those webtv-ers that don't know how to delete them, go to the "home page", click the "help" on the top right of the screen, then scroll down the left column to the "utilities tool". It explains all about it and how to do it there.
there are 388 paid members in total not counting owners . so that is near enuff to one in 6-7 are WebTv. I think a little bit more consideration should be given to them seeing this is the case :)
I am on webtv. I started having problems getting in here starting Friday evening and couldnt get in until tonight. Most of the webtv people here are probably IYT players who were looking for a better place to play. They found it here. I love this website. With the exception of a few bad apples most of the players I have met are great people and it is fun to come here when comical things are happening on the discussion boards and in the fellowships. I would hope Fencer and Liquid would take their paying webtv people seriously and with great consideration. I still play parttime at IYT with a tournament and a ladder. If webtv becomes unusable source to play from at this site, there are others that are webtv friendly. I would hate to see that happen as this is the best game site on the web. However I am confident that Fencer and Liquid will do everything to accomodate us webtv players.. IF 20 percent of their paid membership comes from us that is a huge portion to lose to the competition.
thank you Brian1971!! well said and well put! i just managed to get on here a little while ago, after being down since Friday evening and concur with what you have said, i play one ladder at IYT and that's it....this is the best site going and would hate not to be able to play cause of being on webtv....hope the bosses get everything ironed out soon!!
There must be something strange in WebTV proxy server system. Maybe they have different caching and accessing policies for European sites? Because all other mentioned sites [IYT, GT] are American ones.
Of course, we could create a fail-safe system which shows our site always up and running even if one or more of the machines are temporary turned off. However, such system costs money. Lots of money.
I have a little bit of an "in" with WebTV.. (Not MUCH of one, lol, I'm not trying to brag) And I'm going to try and find out if something has changed with the proxy server in the last 2 weeks. It has to be something that has CHANGED, because WebTV users were always able to access Brainking at the same time as the computer users, every time brainking has come back up.
It seems as though both weekends, it has been somewhere between 24 and 48 hours later, before we could access the site.. Whatever I find out, I will of course pass on to Fencer..
Wish me luck! :-D
All you other webtv users out there, please don't abandon brainking because of this.. Fencer wants to solve this as much as we do, I'm sure!!!
I can't promise I'm going to find anything out, but I'm going to try..
I'll be here till the end. Hope thats not this comming week-end, LOL. Just kidding, I'm sure we can survive, It just gets on your nerves when you want to play your games and can't.
Subject: 44 timed out games due to many days of no webtv access.
To my fellow players:
My apologies for timed out games. I'm hoping to have the games reinstated as soon as possible and with Fencer's help. My webtv sure wasn't very "user friendly" for many days.
Right now Summertop, managers can't do that much. They can request tournaments to be started (this is purely in HOME, other fellowships might work differently) and get people motivated to joining their team(s).
Eventually they will be able to remove people from their team if they wish, start their own internal tourneys and have a lot more control of tournaments with other fellowships etc. Thats my understanding anyway, although it won't happen immediately BK2 is launched. Thats in the future :O)
.....On Checkers board, but because the wrong person was made moderator there for some stupid reason..I cant post due to being banned from there grrrrrrrrrrr
If BK2 starts up Saturday that meens tournaments will be started by the computer, Does anyone know if the tournaments that we signed up for already that start after Saturday will still happen or will they just never happen.
in anger yesterday at a certain person i put FTW behind my name....after 24 hours and having slightly cooled down I went in to try and take it back to plain old Bernice (enuff of the old ) hehehehe
Lenka wants me to release the BrainKing T-shirt shop as soon as possible. I would like to do it after BK 2.0 is out. Well, well, what should I do? :-) Since there is a significant number of people who already want to own the T-shirt, I will release the "shop" soon. Very soon.
