But to forbid discussion about the sites performance and allow discussion about a chatroom on the

"Board for everybody who is interested in BrainKing itself, its structure, features and future"

doesnt make sense to me.

think i saw the expression "freedom of speech' somewhere

discussing the internal workings of the chatroom should more belong on the computer board, but the announcement as done below is allowed on here

Do not use BrainKing public discussion boards for this purpose. in particular - meaningful comments can be posted here instead), Bug me not! or BrainKing site performance again.

Andersp: by posting the comments into the blog they would be collected there and it gives an even better structure .. almost like having a different thread

(i would love separate threads on the discussion boards .. i love structure :))

constructive comments or ideas on how to improve the sites performance are always welcome on this board ..

(of course thats my opinion as the mod of this board, while the comment you quoted is from the site owner on his blog site ;))

Hrqls: i guess I'm just missing something.... it surely seems to me that the best place to post about the site performance would be at the blog entry that is dedicated to the site performance.

A post would not get over-run by other topic posts as happens a lot on these boards.

Eriisa: Sure...next time a paying member wants to inform the site owner that Brain king is very slow he/she must try to find one of Fencer's three links, then try to register to the blog and then type the post hoping that at least someone shall see it.

Do you really believe that anyone will do that?

Andersp: Well, the advantage of ranting on the blog is that you can use a different name (someone elses name for instance), and create an account under that name.

In fact, you could create 500 accounts and have 500 people complaining how slow the site is.

Subject: Re:
there is a link to an article on the blog site on top of this board. you dont have to search for the 3 links in fencer's post

you can post your complaints in here
there are other subjects on this board though which might be buried when everytime when someone encounters a slow connection to brainking posts a message about it ... this other subjects deserve some attention as well

when posting it on the blog site it will be summarized, everyone can get a quick overview and its even easier to see how many people have problems with the connection to brainking (those posts wont be buried by other posts on this board)

i hope its clear now that you can post your complaints on here, but its more structured to post it at the blog site, and other subjects on this board might also come in view that way :)

Hrqls: When you have to watch a white screen more than a minute (thats what it takes me now) for each link you click, then you try to avoid too many clicks.

I've asked for a "Blog comments" board but the answer was "NO"....then other topics dont need to disappear on this board.

Its hard to tell for sure, but you make it sound like that is a bad thing?

Wouldnt someone want to know, and have a right to know, before they purchase a membership, that any problems they may have encountered are inherent in the "system of the internet" and are not "fixable", at least from the Brainking end, and they will likely continue into the future?

Thats why there is a free level on this site, to give someone the opportunity to see if they like it here or not, before they buy into it.

Some might think that any perceived "slowness" might be something temporary, when in fact it is likely a permanent side effect of the internet itself.

I think it would be a good idea to even have a few things posted, maybe on FAQs page or the paid membership page, things like what browsers work best with Brainking, which ones dont, that if you live far away from the Czech Rpublic and you use a slow dial up service and you prefer IE then you are likely to experience certain "problems" etc., these are all important notices for any prospective paying member, dont you agree?

Andersp: beside the extra hassle of having to create another account, and going to a different site, there's another reason why people may not want to post a comment at brainking.info: if you post there, your name will link to your email address, something that is hidden from other users at the brainking.com site.
