click on tournament on the left hand side and join which one you want....Be careful because you can only join one because you are a pawn...you could become a member though and join others :)

mrloupcity: I dont feel like repeating our PM discussion on a public board, so I suggest you...
1. cool down.
2. read tournament description. It says both
a) ratings are considered at the time of the beginning of the tournament
b) if you are invited and want to play, you have to sign immediately or your place is taken by a sub
3. check BKR history for Doris
4. reread your posts (both private and on this board)
5. stop attacking me and consider deleting your post

MM sorry to u and every1 on this site. Guess I'm wrong again but what else is knew. It had to do with a tournament so I thought this was the right board to put it on. And know it was not an attack on u. All I was tring to say was it is not a TRUE top 16 tourney. Doris and I have already talked and she thought I was mad at her about this, I told her no. And if I remember right told her sorry too. Now that the tourney has started it's over for me talking about it. TYVM all for letting me say my pease.

I just created a 19000 minimum first bet pond run game. First 16 to enter and then it starts!

Czuch - you copy cat. I patented the 19,000 first bet pond game. I'll let you use it if you pay me $50... lol

Check is in the mail bud!

How is it going? I missed your game, and thought it might be an interesting variation!

yes, one move so far. someone didnt post at all, so fell in, Rose posted 333 and fell in (even after a reminder message!!) - although she did apologise and she got what she deserved...

Will be intersting now, as most people have quite a lot less than 1000 points remaining.....

I've asked Fencer if we could have an option of a starting number of points when we create which would be useful to tailor it however you want without having to rely on everyone remembering to post 19,000+.

Make sure you bring your trunks. We'll start when we hit 100 people. It should be a great time. Who's bringing the beer?

what's the difference between 20000 and 1000 starting number in poinds? There is no strategic difference, just fewer numbers to choose from. The 500 bonus i guess would be more important?

10. January 2005, 20:07:48
Hrqls
and people would be more likely to bet lower .. so more than 1 player can fall in the pond per round

10. January 2005, 21:19:46
grenv
that's the bit i don't understand. I guess less granularity would mean more likelyhood of tied bets.

I'd like to see the starting number and the bonus both be selectable at the start of the run.

i vote for starting options as well

lets suppose you start with 10 points for everyone .. then more than 1 player will bet 1 .. which causes a tied bet .. even a tied lowest bet .. which causes more than 1 player to fall into the pond

of course 10 points is a bit extreme, but the same can happen when you start (for example) with 100 points .. especially after a few rounds the lwoer players dont have much choices anymore and there will be some tied lowest bets causing more people to drop in 1 round

I've just signed up to my first tournament. Being somewhat slow on the uptake, I assumed that I had signed up for Chess....imagine my surprise when confronted with 12 boards, complete with different coloured frogs!! I've no idea what to do!!!!! Should I bulk resign? Your comments and suggestions are welcomed.....but please don't be too hard on me!!!

lol, sorry logistics, i found it mildy amusing. i can understand your shock though, read up on teh rules.. and try your best you never know you might find that you actually like the game. Resigning would be a little silly unless you realy dislike the game.

Logistics Man: If you resign (or play quickly) and all your games in that tourney are over. You can PM Fencer and he will make it so you can enter a new tournament (at least he's done that in the past). Also, if you resign before the second move, the games may not count in your BRK (although I'm not 100% sure about that).

Subject: Re: HELP!!!!!!
Logistics Man: If it's a tournament then, being a pawn, you can't join another until that tournament is over. Being froglets it could take a while. I hope you're a young man. It's recommended that no-one over 30 starts a tournament involving froglets or anti-backgammon.

If you do want to join another tourney then resign your froglet games and ask Fencer (nicely) to remove you from that tourney.

HyperGammon is currently the 8th most popular game on the site - not bad for a week.

http://brainking.com/game/Statistics?p=2

Oh, and I vote for a HyperGammon team tournament also! Lets say teams of about 6-7 players - 3-4 days per move

I completely agree,a team tournament for Hypergammon would be great for the site.I think it should be a 3 wins match for each individual player team game, due to the fact that it's a pretty fast paced game to complete.

plus the more games the better! (its addicting ;))

If tournament is only for one Membership level and player which is already subscribed change the level, will that play able to play in that tournament or will be removed before start?

You could buy the book and run it through a scanner to your programs then translate it to English with one simple push of the button.
