Ive discovered the most satisfying snack or light lunch. Liptons cup a soup. Most are only 50 cals and 1g of fat! u cant go wrong there.. add a few low fat crackers and its a tasty satisfying lunch that allows you to have a treat as you dont use up many calories!

We have all had our Cripmiss goodies and gained a few here an there. Now that we are all back on track it is time to get back to our diets (nasty old word - I prefer life change myself!)

Anyone losing weight right now or wanting to?
Who has tips, tricks, ideas or even yummy snacks we can have while we drop those pounds?

I have been going to Curves for a little more than 2 years. If I hadn't found it I am sure I would have had a heart attack by now. My job consists of me working on my computer 8 to 10 hours a day and my play time is on my computer so you can imagine how wide the butt was getting. dumped 60 lbs so far and in the best shape Ive been in double digit years I'm happier than ever!

Just made a wonderful low cal dessert guys.....Peach Tea Sherbert!

Use 1 tub CRYSTAL LIGHT Peach Flavor Low Calorie Iced Tea Mix in a large nonmetal bowl. Add 3 cups fat free milk and stir until drink mix is dissolved. Add 1 tub (8 oz) COOL WHIP FREE Whipped Topping, thawed and stir with whisk until well blended. Place in 9x13 pan and freeze until firm (about 3 hrs). remove from freezer about 20 min before serving to soften slightly. makes 16 1/2 cup servings, cal. 40, total fat 1g. Way creamy and good!

Diabetes is a common condition in which the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood is too high because the body is unable to use it properly. Normally, the pancreas produces insulin, which controls the levels of glucose in the blood. Diabetes occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin, or produces insulin but cannot use it properly.

Type 2 diabetes (also called non-insulin-dependent diabetes) develops when the body can still make some insulin, but not enough for its needs, or when the insulin that is produced does not work properly (known as insulin resistance). This type of diabetes usually appears in people over the age of 40, though it can appear in younger people.
It can be caused by a shock to a person's system. It is controlled by a balance of tablets (e.g metformin) and diet.

Foxy Lady: Your body doesn't absorb insulin unless your on insulin.

If your body doesn't consume your insuline, you have a serious problem - a severe case of diabetis. Your pancreas produces insuline, and your body uses that to break down glucose. Resistance to insuline (the body doesn't take up as much insuline as it should) can be a cause of type-II diabetis - or it can develop later in type-II diabetis patients.

Eating high fats and alot of sugar can make you over weight. Eating alot of sugar per se does not cause you to become diabetic.

That's what I said.

Foxy Lady: You don't become diabetic from eating too much sugar, the key there is your pancreas and whether your producing insulin.

You're production of insuline can be fine, but if your body isn't absorbing insuline appropriately, you're still suffering from diabetis. Eating too much sugar isn't the sole cause of diabetis. But being overweight can contribute in getting diabetis. And eating too much sugar can cause overweight. So, indirectly, eating too much sugar increases your chances of getting diabetis. And so does eating too much fat and not exercising enough (physical exercise triggers the body to consume glucose from the blood).
