MadMonkey: The variant where the player who can't play takes all the remaining stones is supposed to be a lot more balanced, and just as easy to implement. Once this is done, I have then nothing about a random variant - which might in fact be less balanced

AbigailII: Any Mancala type games would be great, but this version is far more balanced, trust me i have been playing it on BugCafe and it is nothing like playing with just 4 in each pot, each game is different every time (well up to about 4,096 if my maths is right lol), and like i said it would be so easy to add to the site

MadMonkey: I rather have some other Mancala games that are more balanced. There are hundreds of mancala variants (which, unlike the hundreds of chess variants that were invented just for the sake of inventing a chess variant, are played regularly) many of them not giving a strong advantage to any side.

A simple game request, in fact probably 1 or 2 lines of code to change and a totally different and HARDER game

I would not normally borrow a game from another site, but BugCafe have introduced Mancala now and they probably got it from here so how about we take one of there ideas

Could we have Random Mancala please Fencer

Both players start with the same 24 stones BUT rather than distributed 4 in each pot at the start, they are placed randomly over the 6 pots

Not only harder, but is less of an advantage for white

Fencer: i think he wants to know how many games he won. tied, lost, and timed out on. Seperating lost by defeat and lost bu default. I like extra stats and think just adding number of time outs but not subtracting them from losts would work great. People can't lower there lost number by timing out insteead of loosing and people that don't try o manipulate can do the simple subtraction themselves.

In other words DO NOT count timed out games

I am quite interested in my own of course as i know that twice at least over the years, i have had hundreds of games time out on me as i had no connection.
I am sure it could be useful for everyone, to see how there actual results on proper finished games looked like, without the effect of timed out ones

Since I am becoming famous for leaping to conclusions.... I will make more and say that backgammon is one of the most popular games on this site?

My bet is that if you make a poll and ask people who play one of the most played games here if they want a better more acceptable form of auto pass, then you will find "some kind of majority" that you mentioned

i just have too many games - why cant there be an automated program that makes moves for me - its such a waste of my time to have to log in and make moves.... maybe i can also get an auto-accept challenge feature - and an auto-message maker - that way - i dont have to log in at all anymore!!!!

I know this has been raised before, but does anybody have any idea if (whether) there is a plan to implement a proper workable autopass capability for gammon-type games, including cubed games. It seems to me that this has been a part of the feature requests for some years now.

The AutoPlayer will not move if there is a message from your opponent, which in this case there is as the AutoPlayer sent the message.

Once you have made your move it should be OK from then on

(Another little BUG, mctrivia has to solve, ignore AutoPlayer messages LOL)

Live chat. You can steal my code from mctrivia.com/autoplayer/login.php and make these boards autoupdate using ajax.

Create subroutine that returns array of all new messages since last requested
use ajax to return this from server
in java script add the new data to the begining of the current chat page.

Would speed chatting up a lot and reduce bandwidth because only new messages are sent not the entire page.

Well, you would be overlooking many, many, many points, i can assure you

One reason someone might want to do this is to say "hello" or some other form of communication to their opponent.

Another is that in a cubed gammon game, they may wish to offer a double to their opponent.

A third reason is that their opponent may want them to.

Thats all i can think of right now, their may be more... oh yeah, Fencer wants you to as well
