There are about a million people in the world that are familiar with this language. There are existing thousands of books, e.g.
So I think, there may be a few Esperanto friends on this site, too, that would be happy to be able to use their favourite language here.

I am currently translating BrainKing into Esperanto.
About 70% of the task is already done. It will be available to the public in a few weeks, I think.
Is there anybody interested in helping me to finish this task or to review the already translated texts?
Ĉu iu povas helpi?

I thought I was seeing a pattern, but I guess it was just my imagination. Real dice aren't influenced by board position, so I was wondering if the rolls here were being influenced in any way. I'm not complaining BTW, but I was curious about this.

Just to make it complete - dice are not prerolled (which is what I call unfair and some sites really do it) and they are absolutely random. And any event which is not impossible (i.e. rolling a double ten times in a row, for example) can happen and it's NOT a bug.

Please don't raise any new complaints about "unfair" dice. It's pointless and useless. I am tired of explaining it again and again. Who doesn't like it, can play elsewhere.

Bry: I understand it is completely random.
The bad thing is that it's too random. Almost never things get wild (to have a 66, 2 consecutive times and then 2 44). The expected distribution of all 21 rolls has a very short period.
I mean if you take, even 6·36 = 216 rolls, then the odds for each of the 21 possible rolls, will be almost the same with the theoretical. I would prefer a large value of 200·36 = 7200 rolls, to be each different roll near on the theoretical value..........

Backgammonfan28, Sorry you are feeling that way. I actually looked at your game (quickly). You opponent only has two more doubles than you. However, I know how you feel. I sometimes feel that way myself. Very frustrating.

Computers , as a rule, do not do random numbers very well. Generally it is pseudo-random. Usually keyed of of some "Random Seed" and the CPU's real-time clock. At one point I was so frustrated with my rolls that I created a program to keep track of my rolls. I felt I got the dredded 1,2 too often. To my suprise I found that the dice were quite random. Especially for a computer. I think Fencer did a good job with this.

Backgammonfan28: I understand it is completely random. The die are generated the first time you click into the game when it is your turn - as if you were throwing the die in real life. There is no favouritism or rigged dice. It's pure chance - and sounds like a lot of luck for your opponent.

Hello. I am playing a backgammon race game with Marfitalu, I lost my temper with them because of the number of doubles they were rolling and they told me they ask Fencer for better dice rolls. If this is true I don't think it is fair. This is game id number 820735. I posted a reply like this on the report a bug section of the site so Fencer could become aware of what this player claims and so he can tell his side of it. I have noticed lately that in my opinion, it seems the dice favor the lower rated player. I looked on the FAQ page to see if I could find any explination of how the dice are set up here to work but couldn't find any. Some sites pre roll the dice every day, does anyone know how the dice work on here?

bumble ScarletRose: I would use the hide feature, except that it hides everything that a person posts, not just those things that I find objectionable. I generally disagree or don't like a lot of things that the one that can't name me posts, but on occasion he will post something of interest to me or even have something intelligent and pertinent to the current topic of discussion. The one the can't name me is a fairly smart guy, whether or not I like his way of doing things or how he treats me and others is only part of it. I suffer though everyone's posts including his, just on the chance, no matter how small, that I might learn something from them. That is why I said nothing through all the advertising he has posted. I believe an occasional post could slide by and not be too bothersome, but to continually harp on it amounts to advertising commercially and is not fair to readers of these posts that have opted out. I'm glad that the situation was brought to a moderator's attention and action was taken to put a check on it. As I said, I kept quiet about it and thought it was just me partly blaming my hard feelings concerning the one that won't name me. I didn't realize that others on this site had a problem with it as I've never seen it posted anywhere. Perhaps they've talked about it in private messages or in a fellowship. I might be out of the loop, but I still observe the goings on in the discussion boards that I do read.

Trice: I recommend you to focus on promoting BrainKing.com site then. In my opinion, the mere fact that Fencer is allowing the Gothic Chess being played here is more than enough of this game's promotion. I don't think there's a need of you advetising your "free site" (together with not so free program) in addition to that, "outweighing" the great promotion of BrainKing.com that is being done by you. Why would you want to execute the Fencer's part of your "informal agreement" (). You promote BrainKing.com, he promotes Gothic Chess. Don't swap positions, definitely not on the 10x8 board. Until I receive a confirmation from Fencer that there is an agreement between him and you that obliges him to let you advertise the GothicChessLive.com website at this site, you'll remain banned.

On-topic advertising of other sites is allowed but with moderation. Posting links everywhere constitutes spamming and will not be allowed.
It's up to the moderator of a board to decide if the posts are relevent or not but, saying that, the 10x8 board is the obvious place for Gothic Chess and any on-topic links (within reason).

As ScarletWose pointed out, if you don't like them use the 'hide' feature.

Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do to stop you from your shameless posting about the Gothic Chess site links, sales of merchandize, bidding auctions, general self-promotion, and all the while getting in a word or two about your federation or how well business is going for you.
I thought I was the only that had a problem with it and kept quiet. Now that I see Pedro take action and he also says people have written to him to complain, I feel that perhaps I should've spoken up. I thought Fencer paid you to have Gothic Chess on the site, now you say it's you that pays him? I'll never know what's what.

As for him banning you without warning. What's new about that? Welcome to the club. You obviously got under someone in power's skin. I've posted plenty about the system of moderation and problems that it causes on this site. What have you done to help fix this type of thing? Fencer has never commented to me if he agrees with me or not, but I would assume that he's happy with how he has things set up and you're just out of luck. I was removed from being the moderator without so much as a notice. When I finally posted about it, you of all people, made fun of my posts and refused to even acknowledge that it was I that wrote them. You won't be getting much sympathy from me, buddy.

My post is part of a mutual promotion pledge between Fencer and myself, as I have subsequently explained to you. In it, I disclosed that I told Filip I would promote BrainKing.com as much as possible, including:

1) A link from GothicChess.org
2) Paying him to host GothicChess.org
3) Putting a "full page" menion in Gothic Vortex (which you can see at http://www.GothicChess.org/vortex.zip and then look under the SPECIAL menu)
4) Mentioning BrainKing.com in any printed material or other advertising media as much as possible. Anyone who tunes in to Chess.FM every Thursday night knows how often Gothic Chess is mentioned by radio host and National Master Dan Heisman.

The agreement with Filip is INFORMAL in nature (as we could not possibly list EVERYTHING) but I agreed to promote his site "as much as possible" and in exchange, Filip would allow me to promote Gothic Chess here.

Announcing a new feature on our GothicChessLive.com website is clearly within the bounds of our mutual-promotion structure.

Even after you had been advised of this, you greeted my post on the disucssion board by banning me without so much as a personal message asking me not to post, nor any form of warning.
