Artful Dodger: i guess the bottom line is you CANNOT spend your way out of a recession every man woman and child in the UK will paying for the past Labour governments mistake for the next 30+ years
Snoopy: American's need to wake up. People won't like this but many blacks that voted for Obama expected him to help them buy a house and get back on their feet. They expected "stuff." They didn't get it. Obama is a big talker but he is only a talker. He can't deliver. What he's bringing to the American people will not work, and will cost trillions and there will be no benefits.
Artful Dodger: been broken for years been underfunded for years and your quite correct in saying it depends on your post code alot of the time whether you get the treatment needed esp cancer drugs
Did you know that not all people will be covered? Even in 10 years there will still be 21 million people that are NOT covered. So much for universal health care.
Some of the most common operations - including hip replacements and cataract surgery - will be rationed as part of attempts to save billions....
There are plans to cut hundreds of thousands of pounds from budgets for the terminally ill, with dying cancer patients to be told to manage their own symptoms if their condition worsens at evenings or weekends.
The closure of nursing homes for the elderly.
Medicare chief Donald Berwick - said that rationing is the wave of the future and there''s nothing that can be done except have government determine who gets what as far as health care is concerned.
Rationing. That's what death panels do. They tell you that you can't have this procedure because you're too old or it's too costly etc. It will happen.
Argomento: Britain decentralizing its National Health Care.
Britain Decentralizing National Health Care by NB Staff
Practical details of the plan are still sketchy. But its aim is clear: to shift control of England's $160 billion annual health budget from a centralized bureaucracy to doctors at the local level. Under the plan, $100 billion to $125 billion a year would be meted out to general practitioners, who would use the money to buy services from hospitals and other health care providers. The plan would also shrink the bureaucratic apparatus, in keeping with the government's goal to effect $30 billion in "efficiency savings" in the health budget by 2014 and to reduce administrative costs by 45 percent. Tens of thousands of jobs would be lost because layers of bureaucracy would be abolished.
Isn't it embarrassing that as European nations realize their socialist programs are bankrupting them we have a President and an entire political Party trying to emulate here what is failing there?
Tuesday: It's not the business of the US to run the healthcare of its citizens. And it will fail. Have you not read any of the posts I've made regarding it's failure? Did you not see the headlines from Britain's failed system?
Tuesday: Not we'll see. We're seeing it. 27% think Obama knows what he's doing. More people have little to no confidence in him than do those that have confidence in him.
President Bush expanded the federal budget by a historic $700 billion through 2008. President Obama would add another $1 trillion. President Bush began a string of expensive finan cial bailouts. President Obama is accelerating that course. President Bush created a Medicare drug entitle ment that will cost an estimated $800 billion in its first decade. President Obama has proposed a $634 billion down payment on a new govern ment health care fund. President Bush increased federal education spending 58 percent faster than inflation. Presi dent Obama would double it. President Bush became the first President to spend 3 percent of GDP on federal antipoverty programs. President Obama has already in creased this spending by 20 percent. President Bush tilted the income tax burden more toward upper-income taxpayers. President Obama would continue that trend.
President Bush presided over a $2.5 trillion increase in the public debt through 2008. Setting aside 2009 (for which Presidents Bush and Obama share responsibility for an additional $2.6 trillion in public debt), President Obama’s budget would add $4.9 trillion in public debt from the beginning of 2010 through 2016.
from Jan. 20, 2001, to Jan. 20, 2009, the debt held by the public grew $3 trillion under Mr. Bush
from the day Mr. Obama took office last year to the end of the current fiscal year, according to the Office of Management and Budget, the debt held by the public will grow by $3.3 trillion. In 20 months, Mr. Obama will add as much debt as Mr. Bush ran up in eight years.
Tuesday: Currently the Democrats are in power. And they've controlled congress for longer than Obama's been Prez. Yes, they are largely responsible for all this mess.
Tuesday: I'm serious when I say this: The downturn in the economy happened because the Republicans acted like Democrats in their big spending nonsense. That's what hurts our economy. YOu can't spend spend spend and expect the economy to flourish.
Tuesday: And those rich people will create jobs. Most jobs in the US are created by people with money who take risks. Poor people don't do that. Middle income people don't do that. People with money invest it and create businesses that need employees. Some Middle income people do create businesses and thereby create jobs. But then they become (SAY IT ISN'T SO!!!) rich people!!! And when these rich people get more money, they expand their business (to make more money) and they HIRE MORE PEOPLE!
At the moment, Obama's policies have put a stop to small business expansion. Obama is the enemy of small business America.
Tuesday: He'd be ineffective and he's not a crazy progressive like Obama. When the Republicans take over (very soon) they will start to reverse all this nonsense. The Health Care bill will be repealed. And that is a very good thing.
Tuesday: I say they should vote in a female.. then we can accomplish a lot more. We could move ahead.. and use our energy for the good rather than being testosterone psychos.
rod03801: Much like some of the liberals do here. lol I can't stand Dean. He's one of those guys that when he speaks, it's like fingernails on a chalkboard.
Artful Dodger: I watched that exchange on Sunday. I wanted to throw something at Dean. I can't stand that nut. He tripped all over himself trying to get around the fact that he was wrong about that video and Fox News.
