Artful Dodger: Look up where Saint Ronny was at this point in time in his first term as President,Clinton also. While I am not overly impressed with Obama so far, he could easily improve by leaps and bounds in the opinion polls
For Americans: Canadians do not have the degree of freedom of speech as persons in the United States enjoy. Legislation in Canada follows the British tradition, as do laws in Australia, New Zealand and some other former colonies. In particular, with a few exceptions, citizens are not allowed to incite or promote hatred, or advocate or promote genocide against certain specified groups
Argomento: Re:racist? I don't think he said it with malice, but it was a different time
I am Weasel: ok to be racist? I think that depends on ones opinion, I personally don't find it ok.Certain words did take awhile to be deemed politically incorrect though.
Argomento: This reminds me of The Canadian reform party, when they cleaned up their image
"We, in the last 24 hours, have expelled Tea Party Express and Mark Williams from the National Tea Party Federation because of the letter that he wrote," federation spokesman David Webb said Sunday on CBS's "Face The Nation."
I am Weasel: not a racist in the bunch eh? WoW, now that's going from one extreme to the other.......I'd bet they have their fair share, and a couple more
I am Weasel: Thanks for your opinion,.......racism is a fact of life,it exists everywhere. Is The Tea Party a racist organisation? Not in my opinion Does it attract more than its fair share of racists? I think it does, but some folks probably only joined cuz they don't like Obama cuz he's black
Tuesday: Keep in mind, I'm not saying the individual can't keep the rapist or incest baby, just that the mother reserves the right to abort it if that is her wish.
Tuesday: In the medical world, the well being of the mother is the main concern when considering a medical procedure. That can be argued, but it is the accepted order of priority. We could not be further apart in our opinions on this topic, so yeah, we're still in "agree to disagree" country
Tuesday: I don't agree with selective abortion. The decision should never be based on the child either being a future genius, or seriel killer........actually, one could quite easily be both, but you get my drift
(V): Well, that's where Obama loses me, if he had no intention of dealing with issues such as lobbying, he should have kept his mouth shut on the campaign trail. He has actually broadened the ability for major corporations to spend on campaigns, not limited them
Argomento: Re: present Republican form of conservativism isn't, and hasn't been for years
Artful Dodger: I don't know if the Tea Party is a good example of Republicans finding their way, if that is who you feel are doing the targeting. Sharron Angle, what do you think of her?
Argomento: Re: More facts the liberals here will ignore or excuse away
Artful Dodger: I agree that many Americans consider themselves consrvatives, but they also consider themselves disinfranchised, because the present Republican form of conservativism isn't, and hasn't been for years
