You did miss it.
Mozilla & Slimbrowser (and others) support that you open pages in tabs, so that you have 10 web pages opened inside one window, but arranged in tabs.

relax, i mentioned the taskbar, not you. I would like to know the difference between one window with 10 tabs, and 10 windows, which are navigable on the taskbar. I guess it is a little neater but the functionality is no different. Perhaps the memory footprint is less?

Generally I find tabs are esasier to negotiate than the taskbar as I already have a lot of other things in my taskbar and even with a big screen they can take a while to find.

Also, I think another advantage with alesh's suggestion is that opening the one page would automatically open all the individual files which had be preset ... something similar to some text editors which have "projects" of related files ... open the project and it opens all the individual files.

Using tabs, atleast for me is much easier and since SlimBrowser supports Groups (imagine putting in your favourite games) you can open N games with one click.

You're correct, one click (Groups) opens whatever you want...
I've got a big resolution on my portable (1400x1050) and the taskbar is already set into 2 lines...having way too many windows in the taskbar is harder to work... solving this with tabs is fun.

If anyone is interested I can post a picture or two of how this looks like?

After looking at the browser (slimbrowser) i'd have to say the grouping of pages in tabs is a good feature, this is not reproducable using IE. I'll have to try it for a while.
What I had missed, or what wasn't made clear, is that the group of pages can be saved as a single group enabling the user to come back to the same group later.
Does anybody know if the browser has any known bugs or problems?

When will the suspension of game times be removed? Some unscrupulous players have taken advantage of this situation by NOT moving by the time they should have, and they still have the game listed in progress on their game page, but with '0 mins' in red.

If a Moderator has put a persons messages on 'Hide' on any of the Discussion Boards, is there anyway you can stop them showing up as new messages posted Fencer(as we can't see them anyway).
I know it does not take long to look, but it can get annoying if that person keeps posting on boards and you go there to find nothing.

MadMonkey: I am going to remove the "hide" feature because the related problems will be solved much easier with "approve mode" for board moderators. When it's turned on, no new message will be visible for other users until it is approved by the moderator.

It would also mean overnight(moderators night) players wont be able to post on the board.

harley, Steve: It will be turned on/off by the board moderator, not globally for all boards at once.

If it is Main board, would it be possible for Moderators to have a second Moderator (helper). There can be times often when Moderstors are not on line and Members etc.. may need a quetion answered or help.
On Fellowship boards, i guess you can have a Deputy Big Boss (which i think has been mnentioned before) to carry out such things.

I think Fencer has answered that then, if it can be turned on/off.

Jungle is a Chinese game that you can probably find in your local Chinese supermarket. The rules are very simple but it's fun and interesting.

How about the possibility of thematic games for the waiting room? Particularly in chess one might only be interested in games in a certain opening that if left to chance will only occur 20% of the time, so it would be handy to be able to define the first few moves before submitting the game.

Hey Fencer, do you have an approximate timeframe on the 'choose which order to run 'next game' in' ? I love the little drop-down box for 'go to this game', and the (*) is great, too. However, when you have a lot of tournaments going with many of the same games, it's hard to keep track of which are the 1-day moves and which are 3 weeks. I'd like to run next game in the order of time left, so I'd never have to worry about timing out.

Addendum: Perhaps just add the time left to the drop-down box, if this is possible?

How about when the server is full, and a Knight or Rook level customer wishes to log on, BrainKing would automatically punt the Pawn who has been logged on the longest.

Give the Pawn a message like "Thank you for checking out our site, we hope you enjoyed our features. Unfortunately we are currently at maximum capacity and a paying member wishes to use the site. Please feel free to log on another time." (or something to that effect)

I feel that it might help motivate some Pawns to upgrade their membership and help keep current customers happier. By the way, BrainKing is a great site. Keep up the good fight!

It would more likely have the effect of sending that pawn to a different site.

I've only seen that message once in the past 3 months anyway so I think it really dosn't matter.

on your main page, at the top right of the game list, it should say time left, if the green arrow next to that is pointing down and you hit go to the next game, it should go to the game with the shortest time left

I like the fact that the drop-down is ordered differently from the main page, it adds to the flexibility of options.

Which is a way when you get ready to submit a move, you can be taken to the next game with the least amount of time - or at least some what to know what that game is easly.

Currently you are stuck going back to the main page each time to see which game has the least time left, then click on that game... and with the main page being the one that takes the most time to come up - if cuts playing speed in 1/2.

Why it is needed - if you have about 10 mintues to play, and you have 10 games with only a few hours left (and 90 with over a day), you want to try to get those 10 games with little time played first.

... and I know it is on Fencers to-do list, but wanted to add that I look forward to this feature also! :-)

I wonder if it is normal : A Pawn promote in Queen for example. The opponent captures the promoted Pawn and he collects a Queen !! Else it is a bug else a BIG surprise ... lol

I guess you're talking about loop chess? It was a surprise for me as I was used to shogi, it just means you need to take care about what you promote to.

Yes it happens in loop chess. I though it was the same as Shogi. So you think there is no bug but a comic surprise.

I've never played loop chess anywhere else so I assume it's correct. You could check at Hans Boedelander's page probably.

I've seen it both ways. I would like to see an option, when creating a new game, to determine what happens when a promoted piece is captured.

I was also very surprised that you're not allowed to castle in Anti Chess.

Interesting though this discussion about chess and its variants may be, there are boards specifically dedicated to these discussions so please use them :)

Unless castling in Anti-Chess is a feature request. What is the rule elsewhere? What about en-passent?

Dark chess is a bit boring for spectators, how about if we could see on which square the pieces were captured, this information is also clear to both players.

Could it be arranged so that completed tournaments showed the ratings of the players at the time of the tournament not the present?

I would like to see a note next to bkrs showing how many tournies of that type have been won by the player :o)

Twould be nice if, on a player's profile page, one had the option to view only tournaments created by that player.

Fencer: Would it be possible to see a list of things on your to-do list, like you have above about the games you are working on.
We often see things posted again about things you have all ready made a note of or working on, plus if anyone has an idea they could check the list first before posting.

So what you're saying is Fencer should put a to-do-list on his to-do-list!? :)
