General talk about movies, TV, radio, and other entertainment discussion.
Discussing favorite movies is a great topic but keep in mind some folks haven't seen the movie yet we may be discussing so don't give the endings away!
Rose:
Trouble is when movies like that are so hyped up with publicity they don,t tend to turn out as good as what you thought they would be, The Passion had the same hype and I did,nt think it was worth all the hype.
Mousetrap: kinda the same as The Village. I was waiting for it on dvd and got it last week. AFTER all the hype I was like "huh, thats it?" cant talk much about it so as not to ruin it for those who havent seen it and want to. Glad I didnt buy it first
Hey you can still see it! I didnt give anything away except to say I was dissapointed in it. Not what I was expecting I guess. The hype is surrounding M Knight now. cuz he did so well with sixth sense. Signs wasnt very good in my opinion either.
Has anyone seen the HBO series Band of Brothers? I saw it last weekend in its entirety after borrrowing the dvd box set. I am on ebay right now trying to see if I can buy a set for us. Amazing series on the war from easy companys side of things. If you havent seen it I hope folks get a chance to see it one day!

Sky King Tidbits
Out of the clear blue of the western sky comes Sky King
Sky King was a former military pilot who used his airplane to patrol the skies of his Flying Crown ranch and neighboring areas. He was frequently called upon to rescue someone in distress.
SKy King was mainly a kid's show from the early Fifties, but Sky King was shown in reruns for many years which is why you recall this as appearing later.
One thing is certain. We all watched Sky King and we all wanted to be pilots.
Penny was Sky King's niece, but yes, in earlier episodes he also had a nephew, Clipper. In the earlier episodes, Sky King's plane was a Cessna T-50 twin-engine "Bamboo Bomber." The more familiar plane was Songbird, a Cessna 310B
Passings
Kirby Grant died in 1985 in an automobile accident while on his way to watch a launch of the Space Shuttle Challenger at Cape Canaveral. He was to be honored by the shuttle astronauts for his achievements in encouraging aviation and space flight.
Rose: Nooooooooo! Now, he was a part of my life, as was Sky King. I watched it every week until we left for overseas. When we got back, it wasn't on the air anymore. Thank you for the review, Skyking. And, you're right, the first time I saw you online, I thought of the show, and it's in my mind to stay, I guess.
Maybe we should think of another Indian name for you.
Well Rose I just watched the village, it was nothing to rave about your right, what struck me though was this was the way that sects like Momens and Quakers in the past isolated themselves from society to protect themselves from the realities of the world.
