Wouldn't we all? I asked for that a few months back, right after I played my first game. I even made a few suggestions about it. Like having the 5 incoming blots not placed on the bar, but off to the side. Marking the hit blots, so they look different than the incoming ones. Putting a line to seperate the two kinds of blots on the bar. Having a sentence appear announcing how many hit blots are on the bar. Seems like there was a couple other things thought of too. Anyway, it has so far come to naught. It now seems we'll have to wait until the new year before any more changes will be happening, but I'd certainly like one or more of these ideas implimented to help improve the playability of Crowded Backgammon.
In the meantime, when I'm playing it and I've forgotten if there's any of my opponent's blots that have been hit I look at the move record and can usually tell from that. If my opponent's last move was not moving a blot off the bar, or if one of his moves was not moving a blot off the bar in his last turn, then I know he has no hit blots on the bar. That's usually enough information, but sometimes it happens that none of those is true and I'm forced to play the game backward until I can truly discern if there's a hit blot on the bar and how many of them. Kind of a hassle, so let's hope fencer will try to help us out here.
When a game is lost because the player runs out of time, I'd find it more logical that the end of game is not the time of the last move but when the game actually runs out of time
Just to be sure that everyone understands it - there are no fixed font sizes or font types on BrainKing. Everything can be adjusted in your browser to match your criteria.
though I also think it was somewhat harsh, I also do agree with grenv's statement: many websites out there are poorly constructed because their webmasters try their best to remove control from the user (leaving visually impaired people stuck with tiny fonts, for instance)
But this belongs in another DB and I'll stop my remarks right here...
excuse me, I was not COMPLAINING. I asked if something could be adjusted. I did say that other web sites do not allow text size adjustment. Last time I checked that was not a complaint either, but an observation.

maybe an apology to the owners of all the sites you did just offend? They have feelings too you know, and even though they arent directly affected by your comments, they would be adversly affected if they did read them, and I am personally saddened myself :)
Its just not nice to put down anyone, especially behind their back, or where they cannot respond. Even if it is the truth!
Grenv, I had done that in the past, but there were many pages that would not enlarge and I just could not read them or was really straining my eyes. Never did figure out why they wouldnt enlarge.
Eriisa: There are no absolute margins, all pages are automatically adjusted to your current browser window size. However, when someone posts a long word which cannot be wrapped, the page can become wider than it should be. All words longer than 50 letters are automatically splitted to smaller parts but it is not applied to live links, of course.
I suggest try going to a higher resolution and increase the text size. You do that by clicking "view" then "text size" in the toolbar (in case you didn't know).
I keep my screen at 800x600 cause my eyes have been achy lately. The screen layout is about 3 characters too wide here, so when the red new messages numbers run off the page and I have to scroll over to see them etc. Could it be possible to pull the margins in just a little on the board messages?? Course I really should just go to the tighter screen size again, but now I'm kinda used to it big.
I hope 2005 is a good year for you Filip! Just a couple of weeks away now. I'd say you've had a good 2004. Lots better than mine.
Thanks for the site and for being here.
May the bugs be minor and the games good ones. :)
Onderwerp: Game Messages with Move Number and Time & Date Stamp
I think this has been requested before, but I'm not sure of the outcome.
I'd like the move number along with the time stamp next to the messages. It'd make it lots easier to follow some of the game comments that my opponents and I make during a game. Especially a game that has lots of moves or tricky positions in it.
Please sort my opponent's finished games by default by BKR decending.
E.g.: *link to a member's profile deleted*
I would like to see the "finished game section" ordered by BKR decending by default. In order to make it easier to detect, which his favorite - or best - games are ...
Thank you!
*I don't think a link to a particular player's profile page is necessary. Your request is clear enough without it. The member might not appreciate his profile being held as an example.*
