rod03801: "I'm baffled why anyone would vote for Ocrapa."
It's because liberals don't think in terms of ideology, they think in terms of party identity and party loyalty.
They don't want Biden on the ticket this time around, but they are stuck with him. Dropping him would make them look bad, not because Biden makes them look good, but because dropping him would be the same as admitting Obama had made a mistake.
Making a mistake is not the worse thing a liberal can do, but admitting to it is a grievous sin. Believe me, I am surrounded by and related to far more liberals than I am conservatives, so when I say they believe "It is better to cover thine ass than to admit iniquity", I am not kidding you. They freely admit this, as though they were quoting scripture.
Iamon lyme: "...but will focus on the source when they don't like the message"
I should correct myself here. Obama is the source of the Obama quote. Beck isn't the source, he's the messenger.
But I'm supposed to forget it was Obama that said it, and only focus on who reported it, thereby fooling myself into thinking the point is not that Obama said it, but that Beck reported it...
Seriously, who believes anyone's attention can be that easily diverted?
Artful Dodger: "The left have an unhealthy attraction to Beck."
Okay, I didn't really think he would agree with you. It's funny how the left focuses on the message when they like the message, but will focus on the source when they don't like the message... any 10 year old is savy to that game.
Or when a five year old says "That's not fair!", you know it doesn't mean "I've looked at this from other points of view, and it's obvious to me that standards meant to insure fairness are not being equally applied."
Artful Dodger: I'm still trying to figure out if The Col was agreeing with you, or attempting to shift attention to Glen Beck.
With less than 3 months to go before the election, I'm pretty sure the birth place issue has been replaced by other concerns... things like "Where the %$#@ are all these new jobs you created? Send me a list so I'll know where to apply, you goofy &^%*$#@!"
Artful Dodger: "I can't wait until I see the debate between Biden and Ryan."
The only thing the democrats have on Ryan is that he's boring. Fiscal responsibility is needed, but let's face it, it's not very exciting. I will miss the excitment when Joe is gone.
Apparently they already are ignoring it... I didn't know about this until you posted it. Anyone who knows about this and is poo pooing it because Obama won't be president for much longer, they should be reminded that decisions like this don't just go away because a particular leader goes away.
I never guessed Obama's administration would have been this corrupt or perverted. If I had known, I would have suggested at the outset that we (the American people) would do well to find out what his net worth is and offer to double it, on the condition that he step down and just go away.
He could still talk to anyone who wanted to listen, but he would have to get off the world stage and stop bothering us with speeches that pre-empt shows I'd rather be watching.... like Bowling for Dollars, or reruns of The Beverly Hillbillies. Or test patterns.
Or even a blank screen... anything would be better.
Artful Dodger: I know how strange this sounds, but I believe they don't see the hypocrisy because they can't see it.
My point about the psychological difference is that more democrats place emphasis on party identity than do republicans. It's because of this that they are unwilling (or maybe unable) to regulate themselves. One clear evidence of this is that republicans will call phonies in their own party rinos (republican in name only). When has anyone ever seen a democrat criticise one of their own by calling them a 'dino'?
And do you know why? Because being a democrat is all it takes. There is no "in name only". If you support a democratic candidate and vote for him/her, you are a bona fide democrat.
The 'what if Obama was a republican and Romney a democrat' senario is more likely to confuse democrats than republicans, because more republicans than democrats will put a higher value on ideology than on party identity.
You know what's really funny about this presidential race? The difference between democrats and republicans is not only ideological, it's also psychological.
If Obama was a republican and Romney a democrat, the democrats would want to talk about Obamas record. And the republicans would have to back off, because they would know what a screw up their Republican president Obama has been. The only avenue for republicans to go down would be to make personal attacks against Democratic candidate Mitt Romney. LOL
I wasn't too sure about her, but after 4 years of watching how well unenlightened self interest works, the Ayn Rand philosophy is starting to look pretty darn good.
George can't be a preying mantis. He doesn't have the claw like appendages. And if you look closely at his body (it's out of focus, but you can still see it) he appears to have the slender body of a dragon fly. Can't make out his wings very well because they are out of focus too...
Anyway, I just thought that needed to said. You may now go back to ragging on Israel and religion and planet killers... and the wealthy.
No, not the wealthy liberals, the other wealthy people.
It just occurred to me, no contractor in his right mind would try to run a pipe from the kitchen into the sewer line... I'll have to do this myself. It'll be a tight fit, but if I put the toilet paper roll on the refrigerator door... yeah, this could work!
Thanks AD. That's a good idea. (I'll have you to thank for this)
Artful Dodger: Bush is the all purpose former president..
Democrats probably wonder why a republican would be cracking Bush jokes. It's because I want to forget what the current president is doing. Watching the constant nonstop nonsense coming out of Washington would drive me... well, let's just say I might start acting like Biden.
I wonder how much it would cost to have a second toilet installed, where I'm sitting right now. They'd have to tear up the floor and run a pipe, no, two pipes from the bathroom. I don't know... Yeah, it would be worth it.
I would still have to get up to go fix meals... but maybe not!
Artful Dodger: "p.s. do not say, "I crack me up" as that is something AD would say."
Yeah, but you said "Crap", and that's something I would say. We I you us are in the same boat and apparently using the same oar, so there's really nothing we I you us can do about it... except hope that it's not actually true.
Uh oh. I can hear the intro to the Twilight Zone in the background. Do you hear it too?
Artful Dodger: Uh oh. I was afraid that might happen. Okay then, I have it set on selected users, so maybe that's the problem. I'll go reset it for public viewing.
MissDelish: Try it again. There shouldn't be any reason for it to not show up, because now you are just accessing a BrainKing photo album. It should be as easy as getting to any other page here.
rod03801: I think I got the pic in my photo album now,,. waiting for approval, then I'll know if it worked or not. This is cool, there's a lot more to do here than play games and gab on the boards.
rod03801: Okay, I'll try doing that from my photo album... now I have to go find my photo album. Didn't know I had one.
"George" the preying mantiss? Are you kidding? That's like someone naming his pit bull "Fluffy". The other preying mantisses would all laugh at him and call him names, and not let him play in any preying mantiss games.
Artful Dodger: I don't get it. It works for me, and it's from the same site as the other Biden pics.
At least it wasn't George you couldn't see. If I can see George the grasshopper, who is actually a dragonfly, but no one else can see him, that would not be good... not good at all. I'd be spending the rest of my life trying to explain that one... because I really DID see him!
rod03801: Thanks rod, I never would have guessed. I am able to get the picture, so I'm not sure what the problem could be. That's too bad, because it's the funniest Biden picture I've seen so far.
It may have something to do with internet speed. Most of the pics I get have to be clicked on twice, once to get the picture and the second time I click on "full size". When I do that the pic shows up in the upper left hand corner. If I wait too long to do the second click I'm re-routed to a page that has the picture, or I might lose the picture altogether.
Since the link I put up automatically goes through all of those steps, the only thing I can think of that would create a problem getting there is if loading time is too slow to get past that one particular gatekeeper.
I'm going to try something a little different this time and see if it works...
rod03801: Okay, that was a dumb question. If you can't see the picture then you can't tell me which one it was. So tell me the timestamp so I can locate the post.
rod03801: I've looked at all the pictures after posting them here. I can see them, but maybe I missed seeing one of the messages. Which picture was it?
Artful Dodger: "Fe Fi Fo Fum, the page you seek, is a Missing One..."
Not sure what that means, but in a way I kind of get it. Half if not most of the people I'm related to consider me to be the 'Crazy Uncle Joe' of the family. Most of them are liberal democrats, so I'm not too surprised when they express concern over my mental health... it just means there is nothing wrong with how my mind works.
One time a close relative scheduled a doctors appointment for me. But she didn't tell me about it until just before I was to show up for the appointment. I had already been to a doctor and gotten a clean bill of health, and wasn't about to ask for another day off from work to go do it again. The relative was infuriated with me, that I had gone behind her back and taken care of my own personal business without telling her. This is why I am the 'Crazy Uncle Joe' of my clan.
(V): Not quite half the page (mine is set at 50 messages per page), but you were close. By the way, I was only kidding about some of Arts messages taking up half the page... I didn't mean that literally.
Artful Dodger: Yes, it is the 'moving' saga of a young man who didn't just come from nowhere, but apparently from almost everywhere, to fill a key roll on the world stage. His story rivals that of the life and times of Guy Fawkes, and we (all of my multiple personalities) hope and dream that someday there will be a mask to commemorate his accomplishments.
Obama was actually born in Worcestershire (England) before his family moved to a ranch house somewhere in the south of France. As a young man he moved to Germany and attended university in Haagen Dazs, but retained his English citizenry until moving to Hawaii, where he pretended to be of Hawaiain descent until moving to Chicago to further his acting career.
