Do you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here? Post your request into this board! If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board.
joshi tm: This is a very old discussion, which we had several times. But I still think you're right, and that unambiguousness goes over habit (edit: I am everything but sure that this is the right word ;).
MadMonkey: It would even help if there was something on the last page before submitting that would indicate that you're guessing. Now I started to hit the back button and look at the little red sentence over the board, which tells me wether to shoot or guess. But a graphical indicator is always preferred ;)
This game is pretty interesting to play. But due to the border I can't easyly see it IS an Extinction Chess game. This game requires a total different strategy, and it is the 103,768,761.5 th time I played a foul move what should have been a normal chess move, but caused trouble or a directly game loss. Please help me by adding a border color for this game.
In Frog Finder you have generally two options: shoot or guess. I know that it is caused by my own stupidity, but today I guessed two times when I wanted to shoot and I shot one time when I wanted to guess. Very annoying ;)
So what I am suggesting is to have a different marker for the field when guessing. Maybe a flag, similar to the well known Minesweeper. So I would notice that I did click the wrong link before hitting the submit button.
MadMonkey: Yes i agree, or maybe have an album where we could store previously used pics, and where members could view them, instead of having to keep changing the pic all the time
I am sure this was asked for a while ago (BBW or Tigger i think). Could we have the option to change our icon (and pictures as well i guess) back to one we have already used, without having to re-submit it again.
I just wanted to go back to one i used a while ago, but no longer have it on my PC. If i right click on the icon stored here (brainking URL of course), i have to re-submit it to be approved.
Seems rather silly as it has been approved already and a waste of time for Fencer (or who ever does it).
Surely a small bit of code to pick up the fact it is a brainking URL and been used before it could change it automatically (until if/when we have a better way to change them over)
I know there was some talk earlier about improving the Brains system. However, for the most part, I like how it is know, but would like to make a small suggestion. The problem with the brain system right now is that not enough people have them to have many brain tournaments. My suggestion would be to have a special January action where Fencer set up a tournament for all games with each winner being declared BrainKing Champion for that game and receiving a prize such as 50 brains as well. I think perhaps that the restriction on tournaments for pawns could be lifted for this special tournament.
nabla: Not just for color-blind people. While (for a non color-blind person like me) it's easy to see the difference between one, two or three beads, it gets progressively harder. When it exceeds five, I have to carefully count. And when there are more than 16 beads in one hole, you just get an image of 16 beads.
Infidel: Yes it helps, thanks, although it would still be better with numbers in the holes. Just a question of comfort, it is playable that way but not a nice playing feeling.
I think when new games are added to the site they should be automatically selected in the Game Filter and then if you don't want them you have to go and turn it off yourself. I think most people on here like to try the new games when they are added just to see what they are like so if they were turned on straight away it would be a lot less mucking about!
It is great to have this game here, but would a version of the board with numbers instead of coloured spots be possible ? The board reads very bad for partially colour-blind people like me.
pauloaguia: That is a nice idea, I like it. Such poll games use to be very popular, and I know that at least the french-speaking community has already organized one here, using a fellowship discussion board. It unfortunately seems to be a lot of work to program, however it would probably generate a lot of activity in return, when people will argue about what the best move is or was ; a discussion board attached to the game would probably be called for. One must realize that one never manages to get all players voting, so that such games are playable only with a fast time control (one day, and if you were away you just missed one vote), or with a fixed percentage of votes needed for the move to be triggered.
I think it would be interesting to implement a game mode along these lines:
- One (or both) players would actually be a group of players (I'm calling it group player). - On GroupPlayer's turn, each of the players that make that group sees the game in their "Games on your turn" list and make a move, as usual. - However, the move is not actually made. Instead, it counts as a vote in that particular move. BrainKing waits for all the players in the group to vote (or until timeout). - When this happens the move for the group is then obtained from the one that had the most votes. If more than a move gets the same number of votes, the BKR of the players that voted for it is considered and the one with the highest sum of BKR is selected. - The game would have a discussion board accessible only to the group's members, where they could exchange tactics for the next move, for instance. In a game with two groups against each other, there would be two such boards, naturally. - These games could also have public invitations - the invitation is open for a certain time (like tournaments) and people just join (either) group. When time is reached the game starts.
I know this would be some hard work to implement. But I think this would be interesting in some situations: - teams could really play against each other, as a team. Right now, teams matches are just a bunch of individual games, where you don't even get to play against all the members in the other team. It would allow for different sized teams to challenge each other too - (top) players could challenge a "collective mind", supposedly harder to beat. Imagine a "Player against the rest of BrainKing" kind of game.

Fencer: What do you mean that you don't honor light bulb requests? I just logged back on and low and behold there is a light bulb! Thanks very much! I'm satisfied with the cyan color! It'll due. lol Apparently I just missed a red one as I received a message from Rose about 10 minutes late. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone what you did! What a guy!
SafariGal: The light bulb appears next to your icon, when it flashes click on it and it will take you to the paid membership page, where, if you buy or upgrade membership the colour code for that moment is your bonus.
Fencer: I haven't seen a light bulb in a quite a few days. So, I'd like to see a light bulb! (preferably red of course, lol) I would like to upgrade my membership. (My previous membership expired on the 13th and I have been looking since before that.) Of course I had to be away during the "egg" icon. :>( Thanks in advance.
On our main page we have a drop down list of all the game types we are currently playing and another of our current opponents. Could it be possible to show in the drop down lists a number next to each so we will know how many of each game type we have? or how many games with an opponent?
The taken peices ("in the hand") in shogi should be displayed beside the board instead of way below. And preferably the same size as the beoard. It is difficuly to get a good overview of the situation now.
