anastasia: A HUGH thank you to Groucho...who was the only one after 5 gateway techs and 3 pinnacle techs could not help me was the ONLY one that could help me get done what I wanted to do...Hugs and Squishes to you!!!!
The GameList doesn't have any feed! There are only feeds for discussion boards and News! You can find the link by hovering (or clicking) the orange "RSS"-button (this one) on the top of a page. If a BK page doesn't have this icon, it doesn't have a feed. The feed for this discussion board is:
My ISP is associated with Yahoo. So the email account my ISP provides is very much like a Yahoo email account. When I type or cut & paste a URL into an email it does not come out clickable. When I'm using Firefox but it will be clickable in IE. Does anyone know of a change I can make to Firefox so any URL I place in an email will be clickable?
BIG BAD WOLF: I think the converting is the problem...the lady from gateway said that since the still photos are in jpeg fprmat, chances are that the movies are in jpeg format and dvd players cannot read a jpeg format.I am still waiting (probably take a while since this is a holiday weekend) to hear back from pinnacle about what they say.I try to burn through pinnalce and it says that it is burning but nothing actually happens.I am only trying to burn 60 seconds worth of video...surely it wouldn't take 45 minutes to do that, would it?
anastasia: Well I now use Nero 7 for all my burning of movies.
There is an option to "Make your own DVD-Video" where you go and choose your video file (from .avi or other formats), it will let you make menues and such, and will do all the coverting & buring itself. It takes awhile, but I normally start before I go to bed, and in the morning it is done.
Before I started using Nero 7, I was using a few different programs for converting, and burning and such, and was getting to be a pain - and found Nero 7 a help - easy program to do all my burning & converting.
BIG BAD WOLF: I just got off phone with gateway and they said that aolt of players can't read jpeg format..I have NO IDEA what format the movies are because they load as "quicktime" this is the only thing that she can come up with.HOWEVER....pinnacle sent me that program to chnage the format...HOWEVER....I cannot burn through the pinnacle for some reason and I am now waiting to here back from them.HONESTLY...maybe THIS will convince my husband to buy us a new dvd recorder instead of me recording movies from my reg digital camera.
I have a very nice DVD 5-disc changer which will only play some of my burnt DVD movies, but I then also have a very cheap ($39) DVD Player from Wal-Mart which will play them all.
So you may be burning everything OK, just that your DVD player can't play them. (Not sure why, some are just more 'picky' then others.)
Andersp: lol...I have to admit, after spending $300.00 on this pinnacle and it not working...making me a WEEEEE bit upset!! even the nero isn't doing the trick though.
anastasia: Do you have a Kodak camera? I have a Kodak and the videos come in .mov format = Quicktime movie. Plays perfect in the computer but not in a DVD-player. There are many programs where you can convert, i tried a free one but it didnt work out too well. Im sure if you do a google serach for videoconverter you'll be able to find one
harley: sorry it took so long to get this post up...All I can tell you are the ones I am burning say...video clip bit rate 1536kp dimension 720x576 size 291. That is the one that I am burning to the dvd but then the dvd will not play in a regular dvd player...just the puter. The origanial files (before I edit them in my pinnacle) say quicktime movie size 17.6 mb.I have to convert them though to play through the pinnalce.does this help you at all to help ME figure out what is going on? I am going to get ahold of BOTH gateway and pinnalcle AGIAN today if I have some time before work.
Rose: Brainking doesn't answers to icmp traffic, i.e. you can never ping it, even if it is "alive"! And I don't have problems mostly, but about every 20th attempt to make a move takes too long to wait for :)
anastasia: What type of file is it? Its always hard to figure these things out the first time but once you've done it once you're away! Don't give up, it will be something simple.
harley: it told me that there was no compatible file found...but it is also thinking that I want to burn a dvd file, and I don't I want to burn a saved video file.I was clicking on the option to make a data dvd, which has not been working at all for me.I then tried doing a bootable...again able to watch on puter but not dvd player. Then tried making a video cd that can be played in most players but it is saying that I need some kind of cable.Honestly...is it REALLY this difficult, lol!!??!! On tv they showed the guy just making movie after movie, well,NOT ME!
anastasia: What options are you choosing in nero? You need to choose nero start smart... photo and video... make your own DVD video. It sounds like you're choosing a different option, I've made that mistake before and had a film I could only watch on my PC.
Jason: I'm getting so upset with this thing..honestly!!! I just want to add the movies onto a DVD so I can watch them on a dvd player.HOW HARD IS THAT!!!??!! obviously to hard for me to figure out.Any ideas PLEASE!!!
Jason: ok...gateway told me it was the burning speed of the disk,so I changed that...now it still won't play.Out of ideas!! I have dvd+ and dvd- Can I add to these disks,or once I burn one thing is that it? Like when I burn to a cd..I can add more to it,is the same true with the dvd's? I hate to blow through 20 dvd's trying to get this thing figured out!!
anastasia: nero should give you some options/warnings that sould have made the correct copy for all types of differnt players and not just for the pc, i cant check now as im working from my laptop for a while ,
make sure you can play copies on your dvd player too as some wont play certain brands.
I am pulling my hair out and will soon be bald! I FINALLY got the pinnacle able to format the video from the video card over to something it can read...NOOOOWWWWW,I cannot burn the !@*! DVD! It won't let me do it at all so I went through Nero...it burned the dvd but now the dvd won't play on anything but the computer...will NOT play in the dvd player...WHY!!??!! OMG! I HATE THIS THING!!!!
live poker for Mac and PC with live people using 3-D avatars in colorful 3-D rooms...wonderful sounds...each avatar has its own voice and mannerisms...in-game chat (at least you can say things to the whole room - i don't know if you can chat privately with other players but i imagine you can)...hold 'em and stud poker...and you can play for play money or real money.
i do NOT recommend this game for anybody with a gambling problem. this game is very addictive for people without a gambling problem. it'll probably ruin somebody who has one.
Marfitalu: I didn't check it out yet, but there exists a workaround for such cases, the portable firefox. It doesn't put any files in the system drive, so you can install ist on a usb stick or so. It is all described here. Maybe that will help you (of course only, if you have a usb stick)
tell your admin he's an idiot :)
or better, don't tell him anything and install firefox without admin rights (not needed, you can install it to any directory without special rights)
