why does a person need more than 2 fellowships, How many fellowships have you been in where the only thing that is accopmlished is the same conversation over and over, "thank for the invite" and "Glad you joined"
I can't rember where he mentioned it, it was on one of the public boards about a year ago, I'll bet if you ask BBW, he would rember the conversation beter than I, I remember that he was part of it and seems to remember those sort of things pretty good
Vikings: Where'd he mention it, on the Fellowship discussion board? A place I've never been to, by the way. I'll get over it eventually. It has little effect upon my enjoyment of this site. I'm just not happy with how it went down.
If not grandfather clauses, paying extra for extra fellowships sure could be an option. How 'bout charging less for membership for those that don't use the fellowships, but use every thing else? Or even have an "A la carte" type membership where you pick and choose the features you want, or go with a package like it is now (Knight or Rook)?
I believe that fencer also mentioned that he would be asking people to cut it down to 2, I rember BBW asking if he could keep a third since his were more game related
Vikings: Thats correct.
But nobody was told that they could keep any fellowships already existing. It sounded like we would lose any of them over the limit of two. Some people already gave some away, unecessarily, and some (like myself) did not start another one because we did not want to go through the hasstle of getting it going only to have it taken away. Had we known that we could have been grandfathered, these actions would not have been necessary.
Czuch Chuckers: Both your options are fair. The one with the grandfather clause would give us all some lead time to adjust as our memberships came up for renewal or get us to pay in advance to keep it going. The other one treats us all alike and is fair in that respect. The way it was done was capricious and arbitrary even if I don't avail myself of the fellowship formation option.
I had a couple of fellowships I wanted to start recently, and didnt because I knew Fencer was going to limit them son, and didnt want to waste the time just to get it taken away. I know other people gave away fellowships before the change because they wanted to start a new one but didnt want to go over the limit of 2.
I think that anyone with a rook membership created before the rule change should continue with the same benefits that we signed up with. We should all be grand fathered, and impliment the rule for new and renewed memberships from this point on.
Either that or only allow 2 for everybody regardless.
When you pay, you sign up for all the available options, and they shouldnt be taken away during that membership period.
Have a look at Pond page.
About fellowships - yes, it's exactly like BBW describes. There is probably some small bug with Big Boss transfer under these circumstances.
pgt: I don't intend to join or form any either, but it still seems like something is being taken from me. Maybe it's just a preception problem on my part. I'm getting penalized for the actions of others. Why not reward us people that don't cause problems instead of lowering the service because of the idiots that make trouble?

First: Actually no one said anything about a grandfather clause but me - as a way to exaplin how it is a NEW rule that is now in place.
Second: If Fencer says that he wants everyone back below 2 fellowships, I will then get rid of 1 - no problems from me.
Third: Why was it done? (my guess) is that some people had started creating many fellowships, which could have been easily combined into 1 or 2. I believe it was done to stop the possible abuse that can happen. (There was one incedent where a person create 3-4 fellowship all for the same purpose, but was asked to get rid of some and they did - which is probable a reason.)
Walter - If you have more then 2 fellowships, you also are allowed to keep them for now - unless told otherwise - I have been given no extra deal or anything.
BIG BAD WOLF: We joined three days apart almost two years ago. Why should you get a better deal than me? Where's my grandfather clause? Doesn't seem right or fair to me. And you didn't answer my question as to why this is being done. It does sound like it's being done permanently though.
There is a new limit of 2 fellowship to be BIG BOSS (create/run). It's only for new fellowships. If a person already runs more then 2, that is allowed (grandfathered in), but will no longer be able to have more then 2.
There is still no limit for the number you can join.
BIG BAD WOLF: Could you explain this limit? I'm not member of any fellowships, but I'd like am explanation of this limit and when it came about. Does it effect how many one can join? Or be the Big Boss of? What happens to people that are already over the limit? Is the limit temporary or permanent? Why was it instituted? When will it be rescinded? Even though I'm not a member of a fellowship, it seems like a lessening of the service if I'm now restricted when I never even used it. Do I get some other thing as compensation?
I tried to transfer ownership of the FS Our Place to Slam with the result that I am no longer Big Boss but neither is he. There is a similar problem with Ask Dr. Purple where he is listed as Big Boss but has no functions. These are private fellowships. Can you advise?
Would it be possible to have some way to rearrange things we have saved in our notepad. So we could group some together or put others on the top or bottom.
