The tip of the day #31 by TexasCalculatem is not really a tip related to BrainKing, but pure advertising.
I feel, that that is not the right place for it.

(V): I have been using Chrome (by Google) on and off since it was released, and agreed it is fast

A few articles i have read suggest that a lot of people went over to it right away, but many are returning to Firefox and IE now. It is not just a security issue (though that is foremost) but there are many sites it is not compatible with at all, Facebook being a well known one

I will stick to Firefox, though it is not as fats as it should be with all my Add-ons lol

anastasia: The only problem I've found with firefox is that certain sites don't like it very much. They seem to work better with IE. So I tend to use Firefox 95% of the time and IE occasionally. The google one though fast is not yet (so I hear) as secure as it could be. It might be worth waiting a little while on that one for them to tweak it a bit.

Subject: Re:
anastasia: I have several browsers installed and they all have good & bad points, though overall i would recommend Firefox for Safety, Speed & Versatility

Safari is great for speed though on most sites (including here)

Can i just ask why you prefer IE ?

If it is just the way it looks, Firefox has an Add-on that makes it look like IE, though this is mainly for web page developers so they can see how pages look in IE when they are designing them in Firefox, but i guess you could leave it permanently as IE.

There is Seamonkey (by Mozilla as well) which is the all-in-one application formerly known as the "Mozilla Application Suite", containing a web browser, a mail and newsgroups client, an HTML editor, web development tools, and an IRC chat client.

So i would say stick to Firefox or Safari, they are both far superior for surfing. (if you need any help on FF and customizing it just shout)

Chrome (by Google) is shaping up to be a good browser, though it is in early days yet

For Mac users there is Camino (by Mozilla), though i have not tried that.

Funny thing happened to me yesterday actually, my boss deleted FF off the work PC, so now i have to use IE when i am there, and HECK do i hate it

maybe pawns get some extra's which paying members dont get (ads or something like that) .. maybe those extra's cause trouble ?

anastasia:  I quit using IE long ago.  Safari is very fast once you get it loaded.  It's faster than Firefox but I think Firefox has better protection safeguards.  Anyway you slice it, IE is no where near as good as a few other browsers (like Firefox).

anastasia: I have trouble off and on with the site, but especially when I use IE. A friend suggested I download safari..it's a free download and a great browser...and the site works great for me with it. I think you can just go to safari.com and it will walk ya thru..hope that helps!
Also, on the computers board, there's alot of discussion on different browsers to use. Good luck!

Hi guys...just needed to know is anyone having trouble with this site lately?? I don't mean all the lag and stuff,I mean things like getting error messages from IE,stuff like that....I have tried EVERYTHING I could think of because I thought I had a virus or summin....I put in IE8 today and EVERYTIME I come to this site,I get some kind of an error message from microsoft windows...having to shut this site down from the computer....I have my pages tabbed and it shuts ONLY this one down. Before IE8 the puter would just freeze and shut down all my tabs,IE 8 is only shutting this one, which is apparently effected by something...anyone else (pawns mainly) having troubles??

Rose: When the servers changed, the old server was redirecting to web.brainking.com which has probably been created in advance for DNS servers to be properly updated by the time of the change.
If you still haven't closed your browser since or have one of those session saving features that reopens all your tabs when you open the browser, than it's likely you never got redirected back to the standard address. Just type brainking.com at the URL text box and you're all set.

But it will work either way, as long as Fencer doesn't deactivate the web.brainking.com address

I think all DNS servers should be already updated. Otherwise, they are not properly configured.
In other words, all BrainKing domains should be mapped to the new server location.

I just noticed that when I get a message telling me that a tournament game has ended, there is no link to the tournament in the message, nor is the tournament chart in the message. I looked back in old messages and they are gone from those messages now as well.
