Your not understanding this right, I'm trying to say always change the positions then knowbody can cheat against you.

I'll concede the multiple accounts, though that applies to all games.

25. August 2004, 03:25:57

change the positions. Why use the same pattern? I see that as advanced tactics, not cheating.

Its not cheating to look at public archived games but if you look at their past games so you can win yours its just not right for that person to loose...... I just wanted to get it out so every one would see that they might not want to reuse patterns

If players lose because of their reuse of patterns, that is their own problem. How is it cheating to look at public archived games?

grenv before you write good grief again I think you should take some time to think, I think there is a way to cheat in Battleboats, I never tried it beause I do not play that way but if you look into a persons games that they have finished you could see the place all their ships were at...... And if they used that thing with their ships are in their places already to start the game they could be in the same places in your game with that person, once the game starts going you would be able to see and know where their ships are........... If this does work the only thing to do is put your ships into place by your self every time you start any battleboats game.

Cheating in Battleboats:

1) Creating multiply accounts to play themselfs in a tournament

2) Have your wife play on her account, and look over her shoulder to see her boats, then play her and beat her! :-)

Well I would like everyone to know about my Battleboat plus Prize Tournament but I don't think writing a message to boards like "Brainking.com, Feature requests, Fellowships, General Chat, Jokes, Music, World of Sports, plus more" is really approprate - since it has nothing to do with jokes, or music, or sports.

Just because I WANT everyone to see the message does not mean it is correct to force eveyone to see the message - that is why it is called spam.

ANd they just wanted every1 to see the thxs for helping out a person on here. But like I said "I could be wrong like most times in here." so I was right and wrong at the same time. TYVM for ur time.

I have no problem with people posting same message on multiply boards as long as it stays on topic. (And actually if they want to spam the fellowship boards, well that is up to each BIG BOSS)

I only posted about the tournament on 2 public boards (tournament board & Battleboat board) since both are on topic for those boards.

I wanted to place it in both of those boards since players who are playing any Battleboat games will see that there is a new message and find out about the tournament there, and it is posted here so players looking for new tournaments, espically prize tournaments can find the information here.

And fill free to SIGN UP NOW for the Prize Battleboat Plus Tournament! :-)

I've only seen it on two - the Battleboats board, and this board. Since it's a Battleboats Tournament, why shouldn't it be on both?

Ok, it's also on BBW's Battleboats fellowship DB. Also an appropriate place - especially considering its his Battleboats fellowship.

Subject: New prize tournament
I've recently won a prize tournament, but I really don't need the prize - so why not create my own tournament to give away the prize!

  • Tournament: Battleboat Plus
  • Prize: 6 month knight membership (Fencer already has waiting for winner)
  • Format: 2 games per player since white does have an advantage
  • Time: 4 days per move
  • Start Time: September 15, 2004
  • Where to signup: SIGN UP HERE!
  • Other rules: No cheating, and have fun!

I wanted to thank you for the game and wish you luck on the rest of your games in the "For Dummies" chess tournament... but I couldn't message you because you placed me on your enemies list.

I'd be interested to know why, since I haven't done anything wrong...

Jason: The system is exactly the same as for normal tournaments. You must only substitute "players" by "teams".

in the team tournaments i see there are two sections of 7 fellowships (five in line for example) when all games are played is a winner determind from the score of wins or does the winners of each section play each other .

Only the big boss can create a tournament within a fellowship. Anyone with a membership rook or higher can create their own public tournament - simply go to the "Tournaments" page (found on either left or top links, depending if you're using row or column layout), and there should be a link towards the top of the page that says "Define new tournament". From there, you can set up things like the game-type(s), description, time limit, membership levels, section size, start date, etc.

As Red Dragon pointed out bumble is away and i am ver busy for until the weekend, so dont have alot of time to get on to.
Obvioulsy Fencer still can if he sees something he does not like & is off subject, BUT i am sure he has better things to do.
I don't want to set this board to having 'All posts must be approved'

I agree BBW, the post is everywhere even in places like 'Birthdays' and 'Prayers' where there is nothing but good wishes.

Unfortunately bumble cannot delete as he is at the Olympics (watching not competing!) for a couple of days so it's up to MM to delete if he so wishes from here.
Maybe it would save a lot of trouble if musiclover deletes the post from inappropriate boards herself.

I am sorry and it will not happen again. I thought maybe my opinion about peace and love to all was worth something and wanted everyone to see it. I shall watch my etiquette more carefully from now on and maybe keep my opinions to myself. Did not mean to start anything. I thought it might help; instead it is causing more problems. Oh well, live and learn something new each day. Thank you for taking the time to give me your message.

    NOT a floosie
She told me she was going to set a few days up for vacation before the storm hit, just in case. It looks like she did, but there is no telling when her power will be back on.

We'll just have to wait and see. I mostly just wanted everyone to understand that any games she times out in, isn't her fault.

Ellieoop lives in an area that was hit by the hurricane in Florida. She is without power, and may be for a while.

If she starts timing out in her games, I hope that everyone playing her will give her the chance to restore them when her power is restored. Thanks.

Just to let my potential tourney opponents know, I will be away on vaction for the week of August 21. I probably won't get a chance to pop online during that time.

I've still got a week left before that; I'll try to be online a lot in case any of you want to try and move our games along. :)
