Its a funny thing. It seems like every site that I know has a hardware change (like a server) seems to alway run terribly for the next few weeks..............

bouncer: and it is the same here and has been for over a week, but yesterday was the worst with pages taking up to 3min 42secs to load....yes I timed it, but dont expect things to improve greatly :( all other sites load very quickly, but it HAS to be me, cause as Fencer would say there is nothing wrong at his end :)

Binabik: Same here . Fencer posted something about slow speed last week telling that everything must run smooth again . Well...nothing runs smooth . It takes ages to load a game, I have to quit and log in again and again and again and as you said...it's very frustrating

Sigh, it's been over a week I think, and it's been very frustrating - uncountable "unable to connect" messages, pages take forever to load, etc. The last time this happened we had to ride it out, but it's getting very aggravating.

I have a team entered into Fencers tourney. One of my players has not been on for a long time. I am not Captain, but BB. How can I get the captain off there and add myself as Captain?
Thanks

And to the Mods who do treat the general public (adults and/or children) in a friendly, kind, polite, and professional manner - Go You, you make Fencer's site worth coming back to

redfrog: I'm sorry, I don't take things very seriously here, I just see this place as a "gamesite", not real-life.....Work is work, play is play.....I just thought the above referenced sentence was priceless is all.....if I have to be in a BK "category", I guess I'd rather be in the "unreasonable, unhelpful, selfish" one.......Not to say that most Mods don't do a good job, but there are a couple who tend to lean towards their own "dictatorship" roles, as if this site is it's own country or whatnot

Subject: Re: Does Brainking have some flaw that only attracts unreasonable people to register here, or that attracts mostly unhelpful, selfish types of people?
srnity: its not that BK attracts these types - its the online environment that makes people feel like they are untouchable, powerful, and releases the inner jerk. The discussion on "moderating by the moderators" is the prime example. In real life we dont have moderators going around and editing conversations or banning people from conversing in public. Instead we have morals and the ability to choose who we interact with. Here - we have those that take advantage of the public boards to ignore what others find decent and we need these moderators to balance the lack of our ability to walk away. Thats why I volunteered to be a co-mod on this board - Id love to help Fencer and the global mods keep this site a friendly place to play and have fun.

Subject: Re:
Czuch Czuckers: sorry, maybe that was tongue-in-cheek when I said it was thankless. Its only thankless and unrewarding when you have to moderate someone. Sometimes the person moderated takes it well, and understands, and other times, they don't.

Subject: Re:
Eriisa: BTW, I must really be unique, because I thought it was an honor to be a moderator, and fun and had a hint of prestige as well! I didnt find it thankless at all, in fact, I found it rewarding, and an ego booster!

When I hear how thankless and unrewarding so many find it, I wonder why you would do it at all?

(BTW, I was not removed from moderating because of my ability to moderate, I was actually very good at it, it was because of my disagreeable insight that clashed with others opinions that got me booted!)
